Few pictures from the Iron Range wheeling trip this year. Conquered the hill climb in the gorge and made it threw 1% with only a broken hub to report. Still drove the rig home from my friends house.

Been awhile since I have updated this thread. Outboarded the rear shocks and bought a new daily jeep. Decided to yank the 60 and build a proper three link instead of the radius arms that I have been running.

three link seems to work really well and the jeep seems more stable. Agr power steering pump was ordered last week now I just need to figure out a better transfer case setup,

Couple more years of wheeling. Pulley dropped the supercharger to add some more boost, added in some good seats and harness. Not a lot of other changes to note, this will probably be the last couple upgrades to this jeep before it gets parted out

Well long overdue updates, got married and had a kid so the wife wanted a more family friendly rig so we decided to let the old XJ go. Its heart and soul live on in the new build however. Decided to keep the drivetrain for the most part from the xj and transplant it into the yj project. Still running the supercharged 4L just using a holley terminator to control it now, still a stock AW4 with the raddesigns shifter and upgraded to a 4 speed atlas.

Got to keep my square headlights because they are truly superior, this was about a years worth of work from a bare frame and a tub. Going to slap my old XJ badges on it just to annoy the die hard wrangler guys

Long overdue update. Well after years of abuse the OG 4L was showing its age and complaining about the years of abuse I had been putting it through so some forced upgrades took place. New motor was picked up for a song, if you are in the circle of people who know the deal I got lets not spoil it for everyone. New motor was promptly tore down to address some issues and gap the rings to a more my level of abuse friendly number, ARP head studs where installed and a tall valve cover was ordered and installed to address the clearance issues with the roller rockers. Now onto the details people actually care about, new motor is a 4.6 stroker, with scatt rods and ARP hardware. Rods have been machined for full floating wrist pins, it has Keith Black Hypereutectic pistons. The compression ratio is right in that 9.5:1 region, Edelbrock aluminum head that got some mild porting while it was off and torn apart. The cam is a comp 68-301-5, fueling got upgraded to some 36lb an hour injectors and the whole thing went off to a local dyno shop for tuning. Tuner was uneasy about spinning it up on the rollers with a 2.5" .25" wall unbalanced driveshaft so no firm dyno numbers at the tire but fuel consumption numbers show its making right around that 400-420HP at the crank range which is right where I would expect it to be with the supercharger. Break-in of the motor was NAXJA's 25th anniversary of Winterfest this year, despite my promises to take it easy on the new motor to allow proper break in as it turns out I lied. It was put on limiter almost immediately pulling into the parking lot and if you have had the misfortune of hearing this motor on limiter you are well aware it sounds nothing like any other 4L out there. Overall the new motor was exactly the powerplant this jeep needed to take it to the next level, it performed extremely well all weekend and even took home the best built award at a Cherokee event despite it being a wrangler. In heart it will always still be a Cherokee to me though. Winter upgrades for next winter might be a sway bar in the rear and figuring out more storage.
