If i go any lower or bigger with the drop pitman, wont it throw off my drag link angle in reference to my track bar? i think its just a design flaw, but it wont be an issue when i go to the 1ton jcr steering.
Yeah i just flipped it so it wasnt binding in the connection between the drag link and tie rod

looks like what people with similar problems did is readjust the control arms to bring the axle position backwards 1/4" - 1/2" to recenter it better. Also it looks like your castor may be off, although i can't tell from your pictures...spring perches should be level with the ground.

but this side looks good. i think that one was taken at a wierd angle.

The spring perches should have an agle of zero correct?

yea, parallel to the ground (level). If your caster is ok i'd say move the axle backwards a bit

In my opinion its the pitman arm. the lift I bought didn't come with one but I had the same problem and the angle of my steering arm and track bar were way off so I put on a one inch drop pitman and it solved it but with your 5.5 i would say at least a two to three in drop would be best. Just IMO.

so i fugured out what the horrendous banging noise was in the xj. Where the hiem joints are, there are set nuts, so that they dont rotate with the thread, only at the joint. well those effers were loose as pam andersons you know... the hiems had completley rotated, broke off the grease fittin' and were having a great time doing what they wanted making noise and such. so i straigtend them out and tightend everything up. also replaced my sway bar bushings (12$ a piece at the stealership) and now shes all quiet.
Now the problem, i have two broken grease fittings that are flush in the lower control arm. I think i can just un bolt the upper arm from the lower and than remove the two bolts that mount the lower and she should slide out (hopefully). The place i took it to get an allignment should have tightend everything, but i blame myself for not checking behind them.....
