So got bored the other day and decided to take my bumper off. Found that the bumper was majorly bent on one side and that plastic oval thing on the left was cracked. Dunno what that is... Pics!

The vacuum ball thing is to control your vents aswell as cruise control if you have it. If you dont have the vacuum ball your vents will be set on defrost as default.

Eh go to the local pick and pull and grab one, should be a few bucks. Or you can just do without it if your AC doesnt work lol.

A family friend of mine (now owns his own auto electrical shop, but previously worked as a mechanic at a local jeep dealership for 14 years) told me that that vacuum ball thing is part of your 4 wheel drive system... If you're having problems with 4x4, try replacing the vacuum ball and see what happens...

The 4 wheel drive shaft that connects to the axle is gone. The PO took out the shaft. Haunt put a new one in yet. Think he might have taken it out because he thought something was wrong with the 4x4 and it was actually the vacuum ball?? That would be awesome!!

ran all weekend without my vacuum ball, in 4wd, no problems with it or without it. plus it was full of water. so I highly doubt it has anything to do with 4 wheel drive.
