Well I don't see too many builds on zjs so I decided to post mine. I'm not really new to the site I built my xj with useful information and help from fellow jeepers! Not to mention the for sale section for some sweet deals. So lets start I got 1200 back on taxes this year so I bought my buddy's zj 1996 with the 5.2l awd. My buddy had it before him an a guy who owned a paint company had it before him. So i know its history I know what my buddy's did and didn't do so I'm confident it's half way decent!
The good!
5.2l
4wd/awd already lol
Leather
3inch lift
Bull bar
Taillight guards temp of to he blasted and painted
Flow master exhaust
Rebuilt transmission
clear turn signals and running lights in the front
The bad
Paint soon to be orange hopefully
Fuel pump was out ( got new for 40 )
Alternator went out after I did the pump 200$
Tires where shot and different sizes 250$ brand new used tires and decent rims 31x10.5r15 dakota definity mts
Misfire working on that now
No axle/cv shafts in the front 59.99 each plus 10 each for cores that I don't have lol
No front drive shaft
Needs alignment doing it Friday put a new adjustable track bar needs aligning 75$+76$
Rear upper control at bushing out new arm 39$ doing Thursday before alignment
No driver side sway bar link used discos 35
Motor mount shoot bought iron man mounts they are awesome
As she sits now

So replaced rear upper control arm it was just loose but for 40 $ I got a new arm an bushings. So fixed the clunking in the rear. Ill just take the old arm put new bushings in it for 20$ and throw it on the other side later. Alignment guy calls me i need to replace the right side ball joints "they are done" so I'm going to replace them all. Ill retry for the alignment after, he's not charging me anything plus he straightened out my wheel. I love free work lol
Found a pic of my scratch and dent rough country trac bar I bought for 76 it's supposed to fit a tj or a tj works damn good so far

Changed the axle shafts installed drive shaft front end was locked up from rust! About five mins of back and forth it broke loose went. Drain plug was froze to heated it impacted the crap out of it no luck so i reinstalled it drilled a hole in the top so i could ad fluid, had to temp put a screw and some silicone in the hole. I now no longer think the shafts were removed for gas saving but most likely it's got a bad bearing it makes a horrible noise while driving. So I guess it's junkyard axle time cause I'm not down to rebuild it lol I'm lazy lol
