One last custom aspect of this build is I wanted to keep the 89 front axle with the CAD. I know some will roll their eyes on this one but with a Lockrite in front and the mostly beach duty for this Jeep it was a nice option especially when using to plow in the winter. Additionally, I upgraded the axles to the beefier 760 u-joints. Yup it can be done. The drivers side from any with ABS and the pass side from 95 YJ with ABS.
What I did to make it work with a non CAD transfer case was the use of 12 volt vacuum solenoid. The switch is lighted green/red so I can see what position it's in and the indicator light above shows when the CAD is engaged. It works like a charm. Engages without any effort and thus far reliable 100%
So the dead is done and she's ready to go. I have additional details to follow up on and here's the details to this point:
89 body stripped, sandblasted and reconditioned
96 engine with 128,000 miles and runs like new. I have the engine from the 94 xj which most of the parts came from but I'm using that for stroker build.
New clutch and the transmission from my 94 with 189,000 miles. Worked smooth when I took it out so just cleaned and painted.
94 transfer case with Novak master rebuild and Advanced Adapters SYE.
Driveshaft from front of 2000 xj. Need to lengthen and added HD yoke on diff end.
CryCo 29 spline 8 1/4 from parted out 2001 with 98,000 miles. New seals and Powertrax No-Slip locker. The D35 in earlier pics never made it into the build after I scored the 8 1/4.
89 front axle as mentioned above with new seals and ball joints.
2 1/2 inch exhaust with IRO Flo-Pro Hybrid muffler
New stock springs with the 5.9 L V8 ZJ's up front.
Doetsch Tec 3000 shocks for 3 inch lift
ACOS adjustable spring spacers
IRO lower control arms and double shear track bar
Rusty's shackle relocation kit and boomerang shackles which is BTW where I got the front axles from
Energy Suspension systems bushings all around
ZJ tie rod upgrade
Synergy wheel spacers (Finally found extended studs I needed)
Kenda Klever 31x10.5 tires on stock reconditioned and blacked out 10 hole alloy wheels
DirtBound Offroad triple electric fan setup
3 core radiator
136 amp alternator upgrade
703 injectors
20 inch light bar from SpeedTec lights
Cowl hood fabrication
Future plans
JKS sway disco (on order)
WJ knuckles with OTK steering (next spring)
4.7 Stroker (TBD)

I will say this jeep has blown me away, you have put a lot of work in to it and WOW. This jeep has come out on top, and maybe one of the cleanest jeeps left in this world.
