Aww such a shame you sold it but look like you moved on up the ladder in the world of jeeps! Nice!

 

Yesterday I got some new shoes!

This time went with a milder tread because the BFG mud terrain KM1's suck. They like to chop and scallop so easily, constantly throwing the tires out of balance every few thousand miles. The only remedy is to rotate them all the freaking time, which is honestly a pain in the ***. I've never had a tire that needed so much maintenance. I'm not alone and it seems a lot of the Jeep JK community sees the same results, so instead of trying another set, I went with the BFG All-terrain KO2s, which are supposed to have a long service life and have nearly impenetrable sidewalls. Overall I'm really impressed with how easy they were to get in balance and now I can go highway speeds without even the slightest shake. It's like driving on a street tire with all the traction I need for dirt roads up North of me.

I put in all-new Rubicon shocks yesterday. Out with the old and in with the new.

 

Today I took the top off for the first time since owning it. The temperature in Florida is finally reaching those cooler Fall months, so I foresee I'll be doing this more often.



I'll probably be investing in an Alien shade too, since I got a hella sunburn from this.

Also, to have rear view mirrors, I utilized a $10 Auto Zone gift card I was given and bought some towing mirror add-ons. Turns out they're the perfect size to stick onto the AC/heat vents and you can close them for a mounting surface. Then when you open the vents back up, it hides the mirrors. These helped me see the cars behind me with the doors off:

 

So does the whole vent insert rotate, is that how it works?

Do you recommend the control arm drop brackets for the XJs? Im putting together a 4.5inch and ive heard its not necessary but helps

 

Whoever said they weren't necessary never rode down the street with a lifted vehicle with straight control arms. Yes you should get them at that height, highly recommend!
