man im glad your keepin this thing. heartbreaker seein it rolled.

those zjs love petrol tho. my moms averages about 12mpg definite pocket buster. too many electronics for my taste personally. to much to go wrong. but yours looks flossy clean props for finding it so nice.

for the paint job you should go with two tone purple and anything else. ie:black silver green red. purple is always a good casino color and juss a great color in general.

and for the rear hatch you should fab up a half hatch for the bottom and angle it with the spare tire rack. it would help with rigidity and be unique for sure.

your a true inspiration to me. juss too sad im sellin my xj.

sorry to hear about your xj why are you selling yours? yeah according to the overhead console my zj is averaging 13. im gonna do a full tune up though come spring. and i fired up the xj tonight, first time it has ran in over a month. it definitly has a knock in the engine now. plus anytime i would try to let out the clutch, the fan hit the rad. the parts list is adding up fast. while it sits up north, im gonna search craigslist for a nice cheap little xj and just swap over parts. and to keep the pepper on it, i might do a front clip swap since i will probably only be able to afford a pre-97..ill keep you all updated

yea. zjs arent the greatest with the powertrain compared to our xjs. im sellin mine cause i bluntly cant afford it. its an amazing machin i love it to death but i cant keep up with the gas prices. its hittin 3$ here in michigan. that and if my xj was a 4x4 i wouldnt sell it for the world. and everyone around me keeps knockin on its integrity. it juss pushed over 200k but it still runs like a champ not a knock tick burp nothin but everyone claims "its not reliable" f*c* them. ya know? my 96 xj I6 4.0 will outlast anyones ford or chevy V6-V8. ive thought about doin the 4x4 conversion but i dont know if ill be able to hang on to it long enough for the weather to break.

sorry for the rant.

the rare pepper deff. made your xj stand out a lil bit. that and being a two door. :P
if i hang on to mine long enough for warm weather im takin all four doors off to show the 4dr wranglers that us xjs are cool too.

yeah i loved the color..but depending on rust, if i get another xj it will more than likely have to get painted. im guessing the rockers will be rusted through along with other parts of it. my cherokee just has so many things wrong with it, it would almost make more sense to buy another and transfer parts.

makes sense if your not sentimentally attached to your xj. my xj has no rust what so ever.
i wish i could crash 1g for a doner jeep to make mine mint perfect. mine has a few electrical probs like dash lights dont want to come on ive bassically re-wired the whole fuse box. and of course rear saggin leafs and the lack there of 4x4.

im excited to watch this thread and the project. with xjs bein unibody and yours being tweaked it would most likely be easier/safer to get a doner and use its chasis right?

it cant be a pepper 2.0 w/o bein a 2dr.

it seems like you got your **** on straight. good luck with the build cant wait to get some updated pics once you get things rollin!

thanks man yeah im starting college next week so i have to pay for that too. i still owe on my zj..but that shouldnt take to long to pay off..ive just gotta get rid of some parts on the xj. i am kind of sentimentally attatched to my xj. it was my 2nd vehicle and my first 4x4. ive had it since i was 16 and didnt know much at all about vehicles when i first got it. first vehicle i learned to drive stick, first vehicle i wheeled, alot of memories in it too. but, when it all comes down to it, its just a vehicle and i will keep a bunch of parts off of it to make it still feel like my old jeep. but yeah, ill get lots of pics when it gets going again. the plan is to still make it driveable on the street so i can still drive it to and from the trail and what not.

oh, and just for fun, heres when i was swapping the stereo to the zj haha

damn home boy, what kinda stereo requires that much carnage under the hood? Lol I've got a small sysytem in mine (3K watts, 12"pioneer champion series sub, panasonic h/u.)

that's the same exact zj as my moms but without rust. Idk what it is bout zjs but there attracted to oxidization. Like it's opium once they try it there hooked.

I'm diggin both the zj and xj builds. Keep up the pics!
