They were all on our East Coast Wheelers site and we took that site down. I'll get them back up in the gallery here on CF.com.

Steve got some more work done on the rig this week. I had bad bushings in all four courners of my Rusty's 8" leaf springs. I had the kit installed since early 2008 so I called Rusty's and spoke with Austin about any warranty, etc. They took care of me with no questions answered about replacing them. They really took care of me. I'll definitely do business with them again.

Billy at Xtreme Offroad in Fredericksburg cut me out some new front bumper mount so I can finally add my winch to the rig. I had installed the bumper temporarily before but didn't do it nearly as bulletproof as this....

I think this will hold my winch and keep the front bumper from being ripped out the unibody on a hard pull.

Finished work

Then Billy mocked up my front bumper and a Warn winch... I'm not going with a Warn. I'll probably do another Super Winch EPI 9.0 again like I had on my TJ. It never failed me and was a work horse. It got quite a bit of use...

Then we figured out how to get this new pinion style brake for my emergency brake setup. This is a cool kit that's great for someone like me who swapped in a Wagoneer Dana 44 that had drum brakes in the rear. I did a TSM disc brake conversion on it and it used Monte Carlo front calipers and rotors so I lost my e-brake after the conversion. I don't like the Elderado style calipers with the e-brake system built into them because too much mud and junk gets built up in them. So I went with a PartsMike.com NP231 e-brake kit that is machined to work with the later generation of the Advanced Adapters NP231J slip yoke eliminator kits. They also make these kits if you have an Atlas transfer case too. *Drools* sigh. One day!

I'm hoping this really stops well.

This is Steve's mean *** YJ with a 350 in it. I love the tube fenders and sliders all the way around... I think it's smurfy cool.

I think I might put limiting straps. I can't decide if i want to plate the unibody more and build some shock perches with some 1.5 DOM as hoops. Then get coilovers for the front...

We also just picked up Phil's new XJ too... Not a bad starter package. 95 XJ with 72,000 miles on it, 6.5 TNT Long Arm kit, 32 BFG's, ARB bull bar front bumper, Warn winch, and some other goodies.... for $4700

Just my .02...... Coil-overs are nice, but are a royal ***** to un-install, take apart, modify/ rebuild, then re-install if you blow a shock or decide to go to a different lift height. But if you do decide to go that route, Fox coil-overs and QA1 springs make a nice combo. Plenty of spring sizes and rates at a decent price.

I do like the Fox coilovers. That's what I was thinking. A friend of mine has them in his Xterra and they ride super nice on the trail.

If you decide to go the hoop & coil over route let me know how it turns out, and how you like the setup. That's my plan for mine once its paid off.

Got my 4:1 case and new matching Novak shifter installed thanks to the help of Steve at www.Jeepsxtreme.com down in Fredericksburg. He basically rebuilt my case, had the input gear machined down to fit and installed a yoke brake kit that hangs off the transfer case for my new emergency brake setup. Nice work.

Wow what a weekend of wheeling. My Jeep is still stuck on the side of a mountain but I'm home and beat. I wheeled the **** out of the jeep this weekend. Had it back together for less than 48 hours and here's my carnage total for the weekend:

Broken flat flange on transfer case where drive shaft connects
2 u joints in the drive shaft
2 u joint straps in the rear are gone
Missing rear shock mount
Broken rear 5150 shock
No brakes (still don't know why the pedal goes to the floor and doesn't stop the jeep yet)
Broke both front Warn locking hubs (and hopefully not the axle shafts)
Lots of body damage

Going to take a recovery party back up the mountain in a week or so to get her. Hopefully a rear drive shaft and a winch will get me home. It's a class 7 or 8 trail that I'm stuck on too. We'll need some pretty capable rigs (or buggies) to get me out.

I had the great idea of following a group of buggies up a trail I had no business being on... i made it 3/4 of the way but without a winch, I tried to keep on getting it. I lost that battle. Oh well. Killed two cases of beer, 10 lbs of BBQ pulled pork and hung out with the guys away from the wife for 3 days. Can't beat that... even with carnage!

thats one sick jeep! Sucks about the carnage though. Do you remember what gear ratio was in the 44s before you put the 4.88s in?
