This is why my vote goes to the 10.5
10.25 ring & pinions fit the 10.5 housing and that's what most do as there is greater support.

Personally I'd just bite the bullet and buy metric rims over redrilling hubs.

Yeah, that's up in the air until I get the axles in. I have a set of metric rollers for now. If I came across a deal on a set of standard wheels then I'd redrill. If not, I'll buy new metric wheels.

I can get a set of Allied/Raceline Rock 8's for $881 shipped to me.

Keep an eye out for some decent used 8x170mm 17" beadlocks for me if you come across them frequently. I haven't seen a single set. The only reason I planned to switch back to 8x6.5 is because I can do it for free and 8x6.5" wheels are much easier to find used.

If I couldn't find a good deal on used wheels then I planned to just order 8x170mm wheels new.

I also figured if I needed a spare on the side of the trail I'd be much more likely to find someone willing to let me use their 8x6.5" wheel.
There's a set of 8x170 DIY beadlocks for sale on NC4x4 now.

Saw those. It'd be kinda silly to pay $1k for some DIY beadlocks that god knows who welded and some junk tires when I can buy new Allied wheels for $881.00 shipped.

I doubt I'm going to find a deal remotely good enough to not just buy new.

Where are you finding Allied for that cheap? I agree that 1K is way too much. As I come across more I'll let you know. Sounds like you've got time to wait on buying some anyways.

I know a guy. lol

Yup. I got a little while.

I did just find a set of tires. Just bought a set of (6) 39 Reds.

So, now I need a set of 8x170mm wheels. I've since had a friend convince me to stay with 8x170mm. lol.

Ended up with 2 and 2 half Dana 300's.

Getting 2 NP231's next week.

Going to try to make 5 t-cases into one really cool one.
