A little up date.
Going to be giving the XJ some love in the near future.
Bent an LCA pretty good on an icy wheeling trip, so Ill be replacing that. Also doing front and rear differential fluid change, and upgrading to a Rough Country steering stabilizer.
I will post up some pics of the progress. Been wheeling it for a while now at stock height.....I need a lift baddd lol

Haha thanks guys. I kinda wish I could change the name of the thread because this thing is really starting to become more of just a wheeling project than anything else. Ive been bitten by the Jeep bug in the worst way. lol

You may want to take a look at this...
http://www.thesurfcaster.com/product...icle_Rod_Racks
Mounting bracket system that you can mount a set of tubes on. I cant imaging it being too difficult to fab up something similar

My jeep is a dirty hooker
SOO, went to put in my 2inch BB today. What a mind-screw. Ive been PB blasting all of the bolts for weeks now. The rear shackles fought me every step of the way. Both lower shack bolts ended up getting cut/beaten out. Luckily the uppers came out okay, because the uppers provided by the rough country kit didnt fit. Oh well, the factory bolts are probably stronger anyway. So yeah, just replacing the rear shackles took nearly 4.5 hours. All those road blocks added up to some really frustrating ****.
Unfortunately I didnt have time to do the front so Im rolling with a bit of rake right now. I'll get the front on in the next few days or so. I netted about 1.75 inches on the rough country 2 inch shackles. Feels like a whole different truck. You can really feel a great increase in the amount of spring articulation even on the road. I like it.
I will get pics up once Im able to bang out the front end.
