Any idea why you are tearing through motor mounts?

It's not the mounts, it's shearing the bolts off at the mount/block connection.

No idea why mine does it in particular, but it's fairly common on the 4.0 - too much torque maybe? I've also heard the threaded holes are slightly too short, so the bolts end up bottoming out and not keeping the bracket as tight to the block as it needs to be to take advantage of friction - and the bolts end up fatiguing till they snap. I had the mechanic that extracted them this last time add washers between the bolt head and mount to prevent bottoming out. I'm sure my shot tranny mount doesn't help either.

Good to know, I'm gonna add in a few washers when I swap my mounts now that I know this is an issue

For your starter problems have you gone through alot of deep water lately? I had a 95 pathfinder that the starter would freeze everynight. We ended up taking it apart and finding a bunch of mud in it. But since it was just a beater rig, I used to just keep turning the key really quickly until it would finally break free and crank the engine. then that just got annoying so we fixed it.

nope no deep water lately.

In other news, scooped up some Bilstein 5150s for the front of the danger cart. Just need some fresh paint and 3 new bushings. I'll fab up some BPEs for the top and bottom at some point.

But seriously...a couple months max. The Teraflex 9550s i have now aren't bad, but I expect these to be miles better. Anything that makes my commute more comfy gets installed first lol

yup - the sleeves are the same diameter on the Dakota shackles as stock XJ shackles. I just had to grind down the ends of the dakota bushing/sleeve 1/8" or so to the correct XJ width

Great find. You're going to love the way the front end rides after getting these in.
