How are you liking those 4.10s with the 33s?

4.10s are not in yet - still wheeling / driving it with 3.07s, which actually isn't that bad (for now).

Good to know. I want to do 33s but am nervous about the gearing.

ok time for an update after this crazy week...

Last weekend I attended NAXJA's NAC-Fest at Rausch Creek Off-Road Park. Was a great time and the first real test of the new suspension and tires. Happy to report everything performed flawlessly - no getting stuck, no breakage, no damage, and it crushed every obstacle I threw at it. Can't ask for more than that!

Ran with a couple of my friends - a stock MJ on 30" passenger tires and a XJ with a 6.5" lift and 33s. Ran greens and blues most of the day, then put the MJ in the parking lot and ran blacks.

Anyways, all my pictures are here: http://s968.photobucket.com/albums/a...ACFEST%202012/, but here are some of my favorites / highlights

Seriously, that #7 photo, and the last two, should probably be framed. Looks great, man!

Flares went on nicely, as well.

Update with things that were completed before the trip:

Fire extinguisher:

First Aid Kit:

Also installed a hand throttle - this made SO much difference offroad with a stick shift - I think I touched the gas pedal all of about 5 times the whole day. Rock crawling is so much smoother now. $12 in parts from the local bicycle shop and some stuff I had laying around.

The hand throttle sounds interesting, did you retain the factory throttle set up and just run that as a secondary in place of cruise control?

everything factory is retained. It attaches and functions exactly like a cruise control (although I do not recommend using it on the highway since it will not disengage in an emergency braking situation). It's awesome for low speed crawling and to keep the revs up during hill descents so I don't blow my power steering box (again).

Dukie, I just went over your updates. Great pics, a lot of fun that day, and thanks for the props on the MJ
By the way, guys, that thumb throttle really worked wonders. He wheeled all day like it was nothing.
