I had my first wheeling outing coming up, so I decided to make my jeep a little more trail/water friendly.
First was a vent extension for the rear differential. I used a one-way fuel filter and some clear line. Installed behind the driver's taillight - much higher than the stock vent.

And then my current most favoritist mod - COWL SNORKLE!
Used the stock airbox and filter, 3" ID PVC pipe, and a stock air tube
It works fantastic. I never intend to submerge my jeep above the cowl, and didn't want a snorkel running up the side of my jeep - so it works perfect. It's a true CAI also. Tested it with a garden hose on full blast in the cowl - not a drop entered the airbox

I don't see how this works. When most people do a cowl snorkel they go straight from the throttle body to the cowl. But if you have the air box right in the middle then can't water get into the air box and into the engine?

He sealed airbox off so the only place air gets in is from the cowl so now the airbox is just a filter.

Fenders and inner pinch seams = cut, folded, and sexy. Still have to bondo them up and repaint but you can't even tell they were cut.
Prepping
Pinch welds marked out and cut lines >1" apart
Cut and folded
Took a flap disk to clean them up and smooth out
Painted
ONE PIECE - **** YEA
And here's the front (still need to paint)
have to go pick up a few things this morning for the lift, but gonna try and mount the flares before heading to the shop, or at least mock them up and drill the holes. Putting a set of rear TJ flares on all 4 corners.
Prepping

DAY 1
Started about 1pm today when the shop opened
Last photo of it with the stock suspension:
I had already fought the rear leaf spring bolts when I did my shackle brackets, so those were cake. I had also already broken and replaced the shock bolts so no issues there either
... Most people will hate me for this but the front two leaf spring bolts came right out also - under 10 minutes for both of them.
Rear suspension removed
And the front

Rear done, tires on
End of day 1 - front coils, spacers, and disconnects installed up front
still left to do:
remove old front shocks
install trackbar
align coils
trim coil spacer if needed
push bar pins into shocks and mount
install LCAs
alignment
test drive + adjustments

Started bright and early today
Brian being absolutely worthless with his big *** donut...
Houston we have LCAs
Front all buttoned up
Tires on....
And.....BAM!
Ended up prob around 5.5/6" over stock - will see how things settle out then cut the coil spacers accordingly. That being said...no vibes or driving issues whatsoever. Got it up to 65 on the way home without any issue.
