Default Project Daily

This is going to be the buildup of my 1995 2dr XJ. It's my weekend warrior(daily driver) since I only have to drive my personal vehicle on the weekends due to working out of town I'm just looking to build a streetable rig that can perform offroad and still be driven on roadtrips. So creature comforts and the like will be staying

So there she is. Your grandpa's bone stock XJ. To date(the past month), she's changed a little. I'm just going to make a list of what I've done and post up a few pics without going into much detail. If you guys have any questions on what I've done, feel free to ask. I'm just trying not to write a book and bore you all to death!

-Cooling
-installed a radiator from a 97XJ, new fanclutch, new waterpump, and a failsafe t-stat. She runs nice and cool even with the ac on in 100+ temps now.
-Exterior
-'97+ front end conversion complete with fenders
-Autopal headlights and upgraded headlight harness(eautoworks)
-L&L Fab front winch bumper
-Trimmed front and rear fenders(trimmed only outer lip off)
-Interior
-Momo steering wheel and hub
-Tach cluster to replace idiot lights
-Green led cluster lights
-Modified '97+ center console(glassed front of console to line up with dash)
-shifter handle from '97+ XJ
-factory clock
-remote start
-power locks
-deleted center vent and installed power ports/switches from '97+ XJ
-Suspension
-deleted rear swaybar

Like the green cluster lights, nice rig even if I'm not a fan of the 2 door models (reminds me of cop cars lol). You wouldn't happen to be able to pm me info on how you deleted the center vent would you?

You sir have a PM. I wasn't a fan of the 2dr myself. It's grown on me though and I do like the looks of them lifted.

I guess I didn't mention it but the basic plans for the heep before winter are repaint, pieced together 5" lift, tossing the d35, 4.56 gears or similar, 34s, and of course some audio improvements for the trail

The newer radiator was bolt-in, just the transmission lines were a little different because the radiator I got from the jy had the transmission lines still attached. They were in better shape than mine but had different fittings. So I just transferred the quick connects from my '95 lines onto the new ones. Nothing to it.

If you do a simple search you can find all the info you need to install the console. To modify the front to line up better with the dash you'll need some tape, bondo, and fiberglass. Start by taping over the hole you want to fill. Flip the console over. Apply resin, fiberglass cloth, resin, cloth, more resin, and let dry. Flip the console over and remove the tape, then bondo over any imperfections and sand smooth and paint. You could take it a step further and use some textured paint to make the area blend in better but I had none at the time. It looks good either way.

Did make a little progress on the XJ this weekend. Removed emissions junk from under the hood due to it all being cracked and just falling apart. Gave the vacuum lines some tlc, removed the factory airbox and installed a temp CAI until I do the cowl snorkel mod. Rebuilt a set of 703 neon injectors I had lying around. I'll install those hopefully next weekend, I need to get the fuel line repair kit to fix the supply line leak at the rail.

Also got around to doing the Aurora reverse light mod. Definitely an improvement over stock
