Ok so more progress, bought a 96 8.25 from a guy for $50. I know it's a gamble buying it when it could have only 27 splines, but for the route I decided on for my XJ, the 8.25 will suffice with 27 splines. I am currently pulling the shafts out to check them. Gears looked brand new. Diff fluid looked new as well. Very good shape all around. Regardless of what spline count it has I plan on stronger shafts (maybe chromoly) re-gear to 4.10 and a locker. (Any suggestions on which locker?) I ordered a few minor parts today. Bumpstops for both front and rear, and new sway bar bushings. Will post pics of my old ones, they were trashed! Stay tuned!

Ok so doing my homework a little tonight and I have decided on getting Superior Shafts. Also I'm considering getting their 4.10 gears for front and rear. As for the locker I was thinking of the powertrax. Anyone use these before?

Hey man, I like the progress!
Didn't you just put a lift on it? Why is it sagging allready? I was told that shackles won't fix the sag, they are just going to cover the real problem up.
I like that you have kept the tires smaller. For some reason I'm partial to that look.
I'm planning a 3" full spring RC kit and 235/75/15's Right now, with these gas prices, I like the smaller tires. When I had 31's on mine, it was a noticable difference.
