They're just ebay aluminum spacers. Nothing special. Lol.

Haha. I know what you mean... Autocrossing is so much fun. I wasn't really "trying" to get a fast time. I was just out there having fun knowing that people were amazed by my Jeep and that they enjoyed watching it go around the course. The only real reason I built this "racejeep" was for my own enjoyment and knowing that I can beat on it all I want, hit cones, etc without having to worry about breaking it or beating up the body (bought it with dents all over anyway... lmao) makes it that much more enjoyable. Plus, it's really fun making a "street jeep" and trying to figure out how to put a "body kit" on it (i.e. front spoiler, side skirts, and soon a rear diffuser).

I'll second that. I was just under mine trying to think of a good diffuser/rear bumper solution.

Going to use early style XJ knuckles which have large HD lugs for the calipers to bolt to. WJ knuckles require new steering and with the extreme lowering the linkage will not clear, the stock XJ steering barely clears. Going to use 1.75* offset lower ball joints and new late style hub bearings. Rotors will be 13.2" diameter 1.12" vented 2014 Mustang GT with these big calipers and stock pads to start. Need to make adapters to bolt the Mustang calipers to the early XJ knuckles. Will need the 18" wheels to clear, 15" wheels need not apply. Maybe 16 or 17" wheels will clear.

Couldn't you still use wj knuckles with stock steering?

The WJ passenger knuckle has the second mount for the 'high' steering and then have to have a use tie bar. The early XJ knuckles use stock XJ steering. There is no advantage to the WJ knuckles.

I'm not sure I understand this. 1 you can use stock steering with the wj knuckle, but that's really irrelevant, because stock steering on either would net the same end result. My only question is what part of the wj setup is at risk of hitting? It's not like there is a pumpkin up front to get caught on. Moot point really, if youre keeping factory style steering.

You can use the wj knuckle, just don't use the upper mount, attach the stock steering under the lower.
No problems with hub spacer on a 2wd.

So why use the WJ instead of early XJ knuckles? Seems like no advantage.

You wouldn't need to fab a bracket to hold the brake caliper on.
You can use many different style calipers on the wj knuckle.

There is no advantage, that was why I said it was a moot point, simply stating it's possible.
