project: Baby Budget
#1
Alright guys, i recently picked up a 1995 xj sport off of craigslist in fairly decent condition. This is going to be my 2cd xj build, but im still learning ALOT and im a new dad, so im on a Baby Budget lol. Anyway heres how she was when i got her stock.
Pretty decent base to start out with. Minimum rust, 186k miles..
Got her for.$800.00 haggled a little on the price due to a hole in the transfer case.
After the first week, i picked one up on fs here on cf for 50 bucks and took a night ride to georgia after work.to pick her uo ( nice guy)
Anyway.. Took a saturday off and my buddy drove up to my place to help me stick her in, after i cleaned it up a good bit of course, no pics i know my phone has been taken over by this guy
Lol but the replacement went pretty smooth, got it all worked in and transfer case is working great!
Have taken the front flares off.. Debated on wether or not im wanting to trim my fenders just yet.. Still debating lol But in the next couple of weeks looking to install a 3.5 inch Rubicon Express lift that im picking uo from seriousoffroad.com for a very reasonable price
Looking to run 31.10.50.15s on her and maybe pick up some type of all black rim.
For right now i have simply painted my stockers
the jeep has some sort of aftermarket header on it that the previous owner installed probably a result of a cracked one, dunno, but it has a very decent sound. Although he removed the catalytic converter. So over this weekend i replaced to stock muffler with a thrush glasspack. ( always been a fan) and now this sucker is loud. A little too loud with straight pipe and a glasspack. So hopefully looking to install a high flow cat as well when i do my lift in a few weeks.
This is going to be a long, drawn out build due to the baby budget, so if yall get bored of waiting, simply dont lol im doing this just to document my progress.

Looks like a clean starting point for a build. Congrats on being a new dad! I've got 3 already, so I know all about building on a budget. My oldest starts school next year and she already has been helping me with the build and even going on small trail runs.
