Well, not really a project just yet. Since I just got it this week, an inspection was in order. Finally had time to get her on the lift.
First, changing the oil and all the filters.
Pressured up the cooling system and it held very well over night. Did notice a small seepage at the thermostat so will be changing that gasket.
There is a small leak on the front seal. Not too bad, but being these things don't heal themselves that will get replaced.
The electric fan is kinda wobbly. Not sure if it is the bearings or a busted bracket. Will be addressed during the seal replacement.
Drive train looks solid. U-joints are tight. XC was a little low on fluid, no biggie. And, of course, hitting all the zerts with a grease gun while she's in the air.
Exhaust is all intact, but has had some stove piping done. I thought glass packs went out of style in the 50s. Provided the manifold doesn't leak, it'll get all new exhaust from the O2 back, including the cat. If it does leak, might as well throw headers on her.
AC blows Ice, Ice, Baby!
Cosmetically she is in great shape except for a few whiskey dings here and there and the back bumper needs replacing. Rust is at a minimum.
For being 17 yrs old and 158,000 miles she is in overall great shape.
Oh, almost forgot. I will putting this sticker on the back.
I estimate that will add about a quadtrillion more horsepower to the rig.

Congrats on picking up a very clean rig man, from one fellow Blue jeeper to another, looks great! I rather like the red accents on your molding. sets the blue off well, would look good with red suspension accents, diff. covers, shock boots, ect. the lettering on your sticker is even red, rock on.

Thanks for all the .
After driving Babe for a weekend I decided to do a few upgrades.
1. Installing a bushing superkit. Not all where bad, but while it is apart might as well hit 'em all.
2. Previous owner didn't install extended drag links with the lift. The stockers where bent and in a bind. Ordered extended links with discos.
3. Also, the front spring iso's are deteriorated. Replacing those.
4. Rear leafs are in bad shape. New HD leafs are on the way.
5. There is an exhaust manifold leak. Since it needs to come off anyway, I ordered the APN header. Should be in tomorrow.
6. Bought new injectors from that dude on egay. Hopefully that will smooth out the idle.
7. The AC blows cold but only works on full blast. Prolly only the switch.
8. Not near as important but the stereo is a POS. Will be installing a system soon. I may be an old man, but I like my thumps.
A pic just cuz.

More bad news. I have a busted front shock. New Bilsteins on all corners.
Still under budget, but may need a change order for new tires.
