Project army xj
Hello all, i follow CF, cherokeetalk, jeepforum, naxja, etc.. mechanically im new to XJs so the work done on this project is all learn as you go type work with help from the forums.
I do have another build thread here from a rust bucket i bought but its sold now so heres a new build.
Since im from canada and military, i wanted something army like. so heres the inspiration , canadian forces Gwagon.
When i got it:
95 xj
4x4
auto
d30/d35
currently installing a C8.25 from a 98 with rear locker
Looks all fine and dandy, but the rear leafs that the PO put were re arched stocks and the front pass. uca mount is ripped off the axle..
Start off with paint..
Repping..
Bedliner/rocker guard on the roof
Got more pics on my home pc will upload when i get there, but heres whats going in at the moment

I think it took me about 9-10 cans of Krylon Olive Green spray paint. 5 bucks a can so about 45-50$ I didnt really put much effort on priming and sanding..

Much appreciated! I'll try to keep the build as interesting as possible. I've been running into so many little brick walls working on this bastard..ugh lol its 1 step forward, 3 steps back.
Me working on the new axle..locked 8.25 stock gearing
I was lucky to grab some RE superflex upper and lower control arms and a bigoffroad leaf pack for the rear off pirate4x4. Of course the leafs needed new bushings and so did one of the control arms. It's one in a million to find a shop that knows anything about jeeps and aftermarket parts..let alone working on them.
Rocker guard on the side of the doors, same stuff thats on the roof!
heres as she sits right now, its gonna go up about 2 inches once the tires are on.
The problem ive run into swapping from the d35 to the cryco

So the axle swap is at a standstill for now...need to wait for the weekend to keep working on it. I've got shims for the rear and a new bushing for the control arm coming this friday!
So time to put a deck in! Not a big sound guy just wanted a cd player..
heres the doner, my old 500$ xj now belongs to my neighbor lol oh man she has seen better days for sure..
Glory shot..
Going into mine
Eh voila!
I also exchanged the fugly srs steering wheel for the older 3 spoke one...
Shes close and tight! but just how i like it LOL
Things id like to see this jeep used for would be obviously offroading, but winters as well as maybe natural disasters and helping stuck vehicles . So im going to need a roof rack with shovel and lights and stuff like that.
Thinking of getting a surco roof rack..with shovel and tire mounts!
