Sprayed headlight bezels with Bedliner as the paint was chipping off of them. Replaced my driver side headlight since it was full of water droplets. Haven’t been able to aim it yet but it shouldn’t be too out of wack.

Finished up the rear lift. Ended up gaining over five inches with a zone 3 inch leaf pack and .75 inch shackles. Hoping it will settle some. I still have to torque down everything then I will take for a drive to see how it feels. I have a transfer case drop if I need it.

Which part?

Rear driveline angles are horrendous and I had vibrations with 20mph or more on a trip around the block. To rectify this I am ditching the lift shackles for stock height and installing a t-case drop. If this doesn’t fix it I’ll be in a bind as an sye is out of reach at this point. I also threw some weights and a bumper I’m not using in the back to lower it a bit.

Any one have other suggestions before a sye for vibes?

My future father in laws cj. Can’t remember what year. He used to have an old renegade when he was my age.

Finished up the lift this weekend. Front springs were tough to get on without taking the lca off. Ended up with 2inch spacers for now in the front rater than the 3 inch springs. I need to get an adjustable track bar, longer brake lines and adjustable lower control arms before I go that route.

I ended up putting stock size shackles in the rear. The extended shackles stood straight up so it was way to much lift. Shackle relocation would help a lot.
Transfer case drop helped vibrations, I had to drill and tap one of the bolts to a larger size.

Overall the lift was a lot more work than anticipated but definitely worth it!

Looks like it might be time for larger tires soon!

To show one of my own “hack” type fixes here are some pictures of my exhaust.

Here is the original hole that happened last summer. The exhaust hanger before the car broke off of the pipe.

JB weld and fiberglass tape to cover the hole and around the hanger to hold it. I’ve since added some exhaust straps to help hold it up.

Rear exhaust hanger is rusted and coming apart. Still holding for now.

I tore my ACL this past week, so the busy summer in terms of the jeep won't be happening. I have a few small things that I can do without moving around, or standing, but most will be put off until the fall.

I played that game of wrapping the exhaust together at that hanger for years before just making all new mounts through the floor.

My exhaust is starting to rust through which may be part of the reason. I was just trying to pass inspection since it happened a few days before I needed inspected.

I have the non ca emissions exhaust (only one cat instead of the two small ones) and I’m having a lot of trouble figuring out exhaust pieces to order. Any one have this same model and find good exhaust prices? Or does getting an exhaust shop to do seem cheaper? I’ve heard so many different things and different years have a lot of small things that make after market components tough.

I might be able help you with what parts to buy but I need to know a couple things.
What is the build date of the '00?
Do you have a Y pipe coming off the exhaust manifolds?
Are the exhaust manifolds the 2 piece ones?
Does the cat just before the muffler have flanges on both sides?
Does the muffler have a flange where it connects to the rear of the cat?

I have to track down my build sheet to find the exact date.
Im about 90% sure I have the two pieces header with the y pipe.
All of the pictures I have (I'm on bedrest other wise I would just go look) there are no flanges.
It is possible a po replaced it with something that wasn't the same as the stock setup though.

Build date should be on the white sticker on the driver's door.
Cause that is all slip on betting it says before 1/20/00.
Does look stock to me but...
Need to be sure about the 2 piece header and the Y pipe.
If it were the flange type with the 2 header and the Y pipe I would know what to do.
I need to know if the Y pipe is all one pipe to the front of the cat.
That would kind of indicate factory original.
Would like to see any pictures that you can take of every thing.
Just post when you get off bed rest. If I can help, operative word being if, be more then happy to.

I was able to crawl under and take a look today with leg locked in straight brace.
I have the two piece header with flanges going to the y pipe. Then cat is welded in and muffler and tailpipe welded in.

I found a new hole, heard it for a little. Probably rusted through when I couldn’t drive for over a month. This is the mount right by the rear axle. For now I’m gonna throw a patch on it till I’m able to move better and actually work on it.
