Today i just talked to the previous owner =(
So heres the story i bought the jeep in july from a friend of a friend and he seemed like a real nice guy helped me fix everything that was broken (at the time) and then sold me the jeep. Later that week went to the DMV and tried to get the title and was told that i couldn't because it had a hold on it. So called the owner and tried to get my money back... (didn't have it) since he was a friend of a close friend i let it go thinking i can wait a little while its not my primary driver what will it hurt to wait to get the tile... Today i talked to him and he still is having problems with the title and getting it so i am at my wits end and am thinking of just scrapping or salvaging the jeep so if you want to buy a jeep without a title for parts or know a good scrap yard that will pay me some good money please leave a post here or message me personally thanks for all your help
The good news of all of this is i found a jeep with a blown engine, but perfect title that i want to buy and do an engine swap for so i dont have to give up my dream of my cherokee
By the way i have the title in hand you just cant register it anywhere because of the hold on it!

Yeah well i though i had a new toy, but i guess i cant do an engine swap from a 1991 cherokee(mine) to a 1990(new toy), because something todo with the 1990 having a remix engine, does anyone know if this is true or a load of...
I think it'll be illegal to do anything to it with the hold on it...The hold is there for a reason. Find out who/what/how much/why there is a hold on it. Maybe talk to that person and work something out. May be cheaper/easier in the long run. That or beat your money outta the previous owner, take your current mods off and give it back to him.
