New Dad's practical XJ build...on 35's.
With a quick brake for Valentines Day, the Blue Jeep is gone, and I'm about ready to get back to work on the motor as I wait for parts. With the blue jeep gone we got on order
Rubicon Express 5.5 long arm kit,
Eaton locker for Dana 30
G2 4.56 gears front and rear (rear is and 8.8 with Aussie in it)
Rugged Ridge SYE
6 spicer u joints
35x12.50 BFG KM2's
And a new welder on order. While I wait for my lift the plan is to get the motor back together, and start stiffening the frame. Hopefully all parts will be here next week and I can get the axles together and ready to go. Oh yeah , I also have to pull the interior out and try to get the smoke smell out.

Maybe check with fire restoration companies. Maybe you could rent some kind of machine from them? Ionizer?
Or Soak everything with Fabreeze? New or eliminate carpet?

She's a blast. However I've noticed a sudden increase in Pink around the house, and man it makes it tuff to work on stuff while keeping her occupied. The goal is to take her to Ouray Co this May for her first trip, and the new rigs first outing. Kind of sad to see all my stickers and badges go with the blue jeep, but the new one has to earn them.
I'm going to pull the carpet out this week and tryot to just pressure wash it real well. I have some new dodge dakota seats going up front and I just got a almost new rears seat cover to replace the back. Hopefully with all that gone it will help.

It actually was kind of what I was looking for. I wanted a late model XJ the was most likely blown up, that had a good body and decent interior, that I could pick up real cheap. I new I would be most likely putting a motor in it, and completely replacing the suspension, axles, steering, driveshafts etc so I didn't care to much about the condition of those.
So got a millermatic 211 on order today, as well as all of my parts. Needed a new welder for the rocker replacement and frame stiffeners coming soon. Now it's just a waiting game. Got back in the garage and finished prepping the block, got it cleaned, masked, honed and painted. Tomorrow will be final cleaning and hopefully I can start the assembly.
