Okay so here are some minor update. With getting blasted with snow all this week, i haven't had the gumption to do anything. But i did go pick up a harbor freight special! A wire feed lil' welder. to weld my rockers.

And a hack saw that made my life a hundred times better. I was so sick of using a grinder to cut everything. It was awesome for about ten cuts. Til the blade shattered now it's out of service til i go get another blade.

And the rockers are on and done. the welds arent amazing. But i got down the basic idea how to roll my bead onto the thin stuff and drag it back. I went over my welds after with my stick to clean em up and make em look better. But this is some shots from during the install and how it was coming along!

Had to go all the way back to page 5, but the blue looks good!

Also you could have beat a hi lift jack handle onto your bent tierod at lil moab to get it home! Sucks but it works

hey man.. nice build thread...

just coming from the view of a profession welder (me) i would defintaly have a friend come over and show you how to get that bead going and how to see ur puddle... cause from you picture of your welds your not getting A-penetration B- joining both metals down the whole bead.

some tips- watch that puddle... its the most import part of learning how to weld. know where your puddle is and if you have kept it going from one bead to the next... also try and grind/wirewheel that paint away before you weld it.. it will make your life easier...

i would still have someone show you b4 you have to weld anything important so u can be sure you getting a sold weld.. im not gettin on you bud, just looking out for ya!

Haha thats understandable! And i really do just fine on thick steel and with my stick welder. Ive actually had good comments from experienced welders on those welds. But on thin stuff AND with a wire feed. I suck. Haha

Yea i looked back and saw the welds... they look great on thicker material! but this thn stuff... well you can see lol

mig is easy----ONCE you have someone show you how to set it up---- its just that little catch right there.

this might help but since you got the pattern down for the stick welder... get a thinner rod (not sure what you were using but a thin 6011 will work- you can get all the way down to 1/16) ALWAYS keep ur heat on the thicker metal the work your way onto the thinner sheet metal... kinda like pushing the puddle onto the sheet metal from the tubing (in this case)... thats all i got for ya bud... good luck
