My XJ build
Have a 1998 XJ. I'm putting a rough country 3" lift complete with new leaf springs, shocks, steering stabilizer and front springs. I have cragar 15" steel wheels and I'm planning on swapping out my Michelin LTX M/S 2's for some BFG all terrain's (31"). Anyone out there have any other recommendations, specifically the suspension. I am planning on adding a surco safari rack with tire mount. Thanks in advance.

Rough Country
I put the same Lift on my 1977 4 door sport and I love it! Just try to be careful when removing the shock bolts, because they can break really easy. I got lucky and none of mine broke.

Thanks guys. We removed all the bolts fine so far. I originally got the add a leaf then realized that my leaf springs more looked like planks. Lol. I should have my new leaf springs tomorrow and hopefully done by Thursday. I'm heading to the beach friday after noon and would love to get the tires and alignment all done that morning. Did either of you use the leaf springs and if so did you add shackles? I bought the shackles but don't think I'm going to need them with new leaf springs. Thanks again. Nice ride Chad. I can't wait to get some completed photos up. I've had this vehicle for 12 years and I'm just now getting into this wheeling thing.

My buddy went on vacation today and we couldn't get the leaf springs on. I have to wait a week for him to get back because my jeep is at his house. I have a friend that is a mechanic and as soon as the jeep can be driven he is going to put on the rear shocks, do the alignment and an oil change. Try and get picks up in a week or so. Oh yeah will also have my 31's on too. Roof rack with a custom spare tire mount are next.
