nice light man. i hope everthing works out allright with those lights. but if you want something that will fit better on your bumper then go with the hella lights. theyre not as bright but they are still blinding and shoot a farther beam then the high beams on the cherokee. plus theyre about $40 cheaper then those lights that your lookin at.

 

My only worry with the Hella's is i cant seem to see rock guards for them, if there are guards on the market then I think the Hella's are a for sure deal.

 

Today I had some time to kill and decided to peel off the pin stripes. It ended up taking a lot longer than i was expecting but I sure am glad they are off.

The process wasn't too hard, I simply just heated up the end of the stripe with a hair dryer and started peeling it off with my finger nail, Anyhow here is the result, I think it look quite a bit better!

So today I was able to make a trip out to the local junk yard,( what a wonderful trip that was) and $25 later i came away with a new grille.

I was able to pull one off a 96, for $25. I got it home and ripped off the old one and the new one fit perfectly.

The only problem now, is the jeep at the junk yard didn't have the headlight covers in black so now i'm planning on spray painting them black to match the rest of the front of the car. I did a test and took some spray paint to the old grille just to see how the chrome reacts to the paint.





My question is, does anyone know if there is a better paint to use than regular old spray paint?

 

Don't the cops give you crap for having spray paint on your licence plate?

After a day of having my jeep parked out front my OCD kicked in and i had to spray paint the head light covers to match, so here is the finished grille and covers, I might run another coat over them this weekend but i like the way it looks.

 

Today i bought some Baja Blasers. Will post pics when i get the mounted, hopefully tomorrow!

 

The other day i got my driving lights mounted and wired, here is a few photos of them mounted and where I put the switch, tonight I will take some pictures when it gets dark and do some comparisons.

 

I will add some comparison photos of my lights tonight, but in the meantime here is an update with my new roof rack mounted!

I was able to buy this off a guy on Craigslist for $30 and it was pretty raw, here is what it looked like when I bought it from him,



After a few days of scraping everything down with a wire brush on my drill, it started to look alot better and started to look like this.



Then I decided to just spray paint is as apposed to coat it in bed liner



I mounted it to the stock rails with U-bolts




I then cut out the floor because it didn't fit on the stock rails with it intact



Now i need to add a heavy duty wire floor and plan on adding A toolbox

 

Haven't updated in quite some time, so here is a little update...

So once the roof rack was done I put everything on hold for a while and just kept bringing in the cash.

Towards the start of the school yeah me and a buddy hit up this mud hole right near school. Was a great time until I high-centered in some really deep and think mud "I was running everyting stock with some ****ty tires" So my buddy was able to pull me out with a tow strap that another friend had up there.

Lesson learned!! my buddy's yota ended up pulling out his CV crank shaft on the way out... so the rest of that day involved getting the bigger trucks out there with the flat bead and loading it up... That ended up getting fixed, but he decided to sell the Truck and now has a F350 for when I get really stuck

 

As the fall turned into winter I still hadn't done any huge changes. just spent lots of time and gas messing around on backcountry roads in the snow. made some very nice climbs in the Jeep, still running stock at the time.

 

Soon after my dad was at the local thrift store and saw some guy trying to get rid of extra tires, he took the guys number and I went by that night... Picked up some awesome pretty much new Radial MT's that were a 235/75/15 and for free, Hell could never pass those baby's up.

$66 later they were all mounted and running,





I soon realized that the MT's were not doing so hot on Bend's icy roads as a innocent drift turned into a broken mail box and shattered tail light. so off came the MT's and on went the tiny studs for the winter. Good to keep the MT's nice for the spring and summer anyway!!!
