Quote: Hey guys been pretty buys with the jeep so I haven't had much time to post on here.. Anyways, the front and rear bumper are complete! Sagging headliner was replaced yesterday.. all new headliner which is great! Last night I took to cleaning the interior thoroughly (it was pretty dirty) there are still some stains that I need to get out today. I also installed some smoked corners/turn signals that I got off eBay. I need to wire up my HIDs but the courtesy lights on my XJ are causing problems so I gotta remove that resistor or whatever before I can run my HIDs.. Here are some more pics

curious, what headlights did u use for the HID's? any close up pictures possible?

They're the Hella H4 conversions, just with HID bulbs in them. I'll try and snap some tonight.

For some reason the hids look really blue in the pics but they're more of a bright whiteish blue (ice blue )

Is there an advantage to having 2 springs on your CB antenna? It seems like it would just make it taller and it would swing around a lot more just smacking the body. I had one spring on my 4 ft antenna, and it just slapped the body all day long while on the trail. I ended up taking it off, but then it cought a tree and snapped lol

Not that I know of, my friend gave me this antenna and it already had the 2 springs on it so I just mounted it how I got it. However these springs are pretty stiff and it doesn't smack my body At all

A real cb'er will tell you no. And here is the reason, when you run co phase it makes your system directional. Where as a single antenna will look 360.

Does it really hurt to have 2? I don't think so.. But that's what I'm told and my friends dad has been a cb/ham operator for a very long time. In fact he does that sort of thing for a living. (electronics/radios/lighting)

But I like how it looks to so I'm going co phase also. 2 four ft red/white/blue firestiks

Also to stop the antenna from hitting your jeep you can drill 2 holes in a tennis ball and slide it on. This way when it swings it hits the ball instead.
