97 XJ build - lots of pics!!!
I am starting my new project this week so I figured I'd make a build thread to track the progress.
A little info on the Jeep:
97 XJ Cherokee 4.0 4x4. 172XXX on the clock
I sold my 96 XJ last week and couldn't pass up on this 97.. only paid $1200 for it.
Plans are
-4.5" lift
-33x13.50x15 Nitto Mud Grapplers
-15x10 black Pro Comp Street Locks
-Custom front/rear bumpers
-Winch
-Roof Rack
and some more misc mods...
I will post pics throughout the process
Here are a few pics of her bone stock...

Update:
Rear bumper is almost finished just need to cut holes for rear reverse lights, and paint it black... Front bumper will be getting welded up tomorrow. Cut and fold fenders/rear qtr panel is almost done as well. Should be finished with the bumpers/fenders/winch by Friday. Roof rack has been ordered (it's a surco).. Should be here by sometime next week not sure though cuz of Christmas but when it gets here I'm putting 4 Hella 500s across the front with 2 hella aux lights as floods for the rear all mounted to the Surco. Here are a few pics of the bumper/fender trimming...
Stay tuned....

Hey guys been pretty buys with the jeep so I haven't had much time to post on here.. Anyways, the front and rear bumper are complete! Sagging headliner was replaced yesterday.. all new headliner which is great! Last night I took to cleaning the interior thoroughly (it was pretty dirty) there are still some stains that I need to get out today. I also installed some smoked corners/turn signals that I got off eBay. I need to wire up my HIDs but the courtesy lights on my XJ are causing problems so I gotta remove that resistor or whatever before I can run my HIDs.. Here are some more pics

Smoked my tail lights a few days ago and got the interior dried out and bolted seats back in.. HIDs still aren't working I think the drivers side bulb is blown cuz the passenger side works gotta go get them exchanged tmrw. Anyways here's a few pics of the tail lights (pics were taken before I smoked the third brake light). They turned out really good! They have the glossy look to them not all flat black like I've seen some around here.. If anyone has any questions on how to properly smoke their tail lights let me know!
I will be ordering the lift this week once the roof rack goes on so stay tuned!

Things with the jeep have been going kind of slowly for the past few weeks.. Just doing minor things here and there. I got the lift/tires/wheels ordered Friday so hopefully I can get the lift going Monday, if all goes as planned (which it probably won't lol).. Anyways today I got the widows tinted.. 20% on the front 2, and 5% all around the back with a strip across the windshield. It looks really good. I also got a LED for the tag lamp cuz the tag lamp was blown so why not? I plan on converting all the interior lights to LEDs as well. The HIDs are working now turns out it was just a blown fuze. Anyways ill have more pics once the lift gets going and stuff but for now here are a few pics of the tint. Ps don't mind the two different sets of tires/wheels on it!! Lets just say I'm really ready for this lift!

Bah, making me wish I had gotten a white/black XJ. Smoked/tinted stuff just doesn't look at good on a red XJ... Love the smoked tails, perfect shade. I like the smoked markers too.

Personally I think the smoked stuff looks GREAT on a red XJ! But that's just me! Lol but thanks!

Looks great. I love how you did the corners on that rear bumper. Fills in that space under the taillights nicely.
On the front bumper, did you put caps on the tube where it ends in front of the wheels?
