The direction that it fires at doesn't really matter. The sound waves of a low frequency speaker don't need to be directed to have a good sound like a mid range or tweeter does. Whichever direction you mount it should work out fine.

Actually the more directions that bass bounces the louder it is. Like take a car for example, If you have the subs firing toward the front seat. If you put them toward the back they will be 2 times louder. The bass is bouncing off the back and then foward,. Anyhow with it firing to the side it does a real good job. Not sure if I will get to build anymore boxes before I go back to work. Anyhow all this talk would be better at my other thread. Here is the link.

Here's some pics. Lord have mercy the underhood shots are awful! What is the best and easiest way to clean the engine bay? Anyhow heres my custom cut bumper,Lights,Fenders,Flares, etc. Then the Cold Air intake I made in like 20 mins. I will make a shield for it later. Man it sure seemed to help put back some lost power.

Here are some more. These show my custom gauge bezel I made. Also I modded the rear speaker covers. Also my shifter I just modded to fit. I love the look of it.

Went on too many riding trips without cleaning the poor old XJ. Sheesh it is nasty. I will get around to it when it decides to get back above 20 degrees!

Coming Soon!

I am going to make me a Carbon Fiber dash kit.

Carbon Fiber covered Flares!

Finish painting the front end.

Serious underhood cleaning and detailing.

I have too many plans to list.I will half to find time between now and spring time though. XJ modding is mostly over in the spring and fourwheeler riding takes over until late fall. I have another Kawi to fix right now. So much to do with no time or money to do it!

I'm not a fan of the flames on the hood but I'm really diggin that shorty bumper and those lights, same place I have mine but mine are like 6" in diameter.

What is that thing over the cone filter, and where'd you get it?

Thanks for the kudo's man!

The bumper was just something that kinda happened. I thought well I dont like the angle cuts and then you can see in the side of the bumper. So I thought trim it down and make some end caps to fill it in. I still need to paint the diamond plate caps black.

The flames will be gone here soon. I never finished them anyhow but I kinda like the look of them.

I used the horn mounts and bent them around and bolted the lights right up to em Those lights are 4".

I just came back upstairs to take a break from the sub box building. I hear I am going back to work so it looks like this may be the only box I make for people on here. Just depends I guess.

Oh and on the filter, The carbon fiber part is a built on Carbon Fiber look heat sheild. Here is a link to one like it.

I use to be a sales manager and prototype developer for one of the largest aftermarket dashboard companies in the country. We used 3M pres. sen. adhesive laminated to a sheet of CF, then epoxied it. Real simple and works great. If you need help in pulling patterns I could explain how we did it, if you know than that's cool also.

Just thought I would offer.

Mike

Thanks Mike, This stuff I am getting is Carbon Fiber Wrapping Film,. I will use a heat gun to perform going around curves and angles. This stuff is really thick and stretchy. It is Avery MPI Digital printed in house on Avery MPI 1005 EZ 2.1 Mil Cast Gloss Vinyl (same stuff used for vehicle wraps)

If I need some help I will hit ya up. Thanks for the offer.

Here are some pics of my bumper cut down similar to yours. Hadn't seen anyone else with theirs done that way. I like the diamond plate you put into the ends of yours. Cool ride i really like the hood graphics.
