Hahaha me too actually it was today at Pepboys and then I decided I like the actually metal idea that way I can just wipe it down and it wouldn't stain like the rubber or foam might.Originally Posted by truckntractorhick
hmm....... thats a good idea! ill do that maybe, and i found a nice rubber like diamond plating!
Pulled my carpets today so that I could prep the floors for the Herculiner. I also pulled the padding off of the carpeting too so that it will dry faster. Once I put down a good coat of Herc I'll be getting FatMat sound deadening sheets to put down on the floors for sound insulation.
Here's what the driver's side padding looked like. The part that's all brown is soaked.

Driver's side floor pan had some rust on it. Only had two small quarter sized holes in it. Not too bad considering all the NJ salt on the roads for 12 winters.

Everything else looked pretty good though.

The foil stuff was pretty tough to get off, but a putty knife made quick work of it. After all the foil was off the sticky backing was still on the floors so I used some Goo-Gone and it broke it down so that I was able to just scarp it with a putty knife and then wipe it down.

Forgot to get a picture of the prep work and floor patch before it got dark so I'll get that tomorrow before I lay down the Herculiner in the morning.

So the first coat is down and now I have to wait 4 hours before the next coat.

All uploaded from my garage office lol
I'll follow up tomorrow with the interior reinstalled.

Please forgive me if I've asked you this. I asked somebody with the same rack since I've been looking at it myself, but I can't remember what thread it was that I posted it in. Anyways do you think a highlift would mount to the outside of your rack? I'd like to mount mine there but wasn't sure since this rack is a little lower profile than the others if it would. Thanks!

Don't think you asked me before, but yes it should be no problem. Hi-lift makes a rack hanger for 1"-2" tubing that should work with no problems.Originally Posted by Red82

Nope, still trying to get it clean and just make it drop in carpet so I can pull it out easily for wheeling. Hoping to get on the beach with it soon. Originally Posted by 2001XJDAVEJ
