I'm also currently averaging about 13 mpg (all city), which seems very low because I was able to get about 16 last summer in the city. However, this is up from the 10-11 mpg I got during the winter... I'm still all stock so I'm really not sure what is causing it, and I'm also concerned about how much it will drop with a lift, bigger tires, and a roof rack....
any suggestions?

I ordered my lift kit and it arrived this weekend. It's a 3.5 inch Rubicon Express Super Ride with full leaf packs. I got it from serious offroad (great customer service btw) during their 10% off sale. I also got a tcase lowering kit just in case I need it and the Chrysler u bolts. The lift should be going on around June 8th because I get out of school that week.

Definitely looking good so far. Be interested in seeing where you take it from here.
I'm digging the digital headliner, might have to do mine in USMC desert MARPAT (I'm in agreement with XJGunny on that).

I'm going to install the new suspension this weekend. I have finals this week and then I'm done with school (yay!). I started spraying every single bolt with penetrating oil last weekend and will do that every day until the install. Hopefully it'll help.
I also bought a welder. Its a Lincoln AC 225 and it came with 2 helmets and a handful of electrodes. Got it from a real nice guy who gave me a real nice price of 75 bucks. Now I'll be able to get my roof rack done at home this summer!
And today I picked up some Bushwacker cut out fender flares from a forum member. I couldn't pass them up for only $150 for all 4 and they're practically new! These things are huge though, so I won't be putting them on until I get new tires, and I get the guts to cut up my fenders lol. I'm still torn between 31x10.50 and 32x11.50 for tires though...

Cool build i like the hidden compartment in the center console. I take my doors off all the time and it is a pain having to stuff everything in the glove box to lock it lol. I had a black xj when i was your age too.. mine was a 95 though. I did alot of work to it in school actually. My instructor for auto tech was really cool and he would use my jeep for the class to learn on.. Which was ok for me.. I had a spot to install my lift, mount and balance my tires and any other general work i needed to get done lol.

I've heard that before lol. My main concern is losing fuel economy. I'm at 13.5 mpg stock for some crazy reason and I really don't want that to get worse. Although I'm not sure if there'd be much of a difference between 31s and 32s... I'm not concerned about fitting them with the bushwackers and I believe the BFG all terrain KO's are only a few dollars more per tire for 32's

12 with all that isn't that bad... I've heard a lot of things are supposed to help but I haven't tried them yet. I swear something must be wrong with it but it runs fine and never reads a code...
