My dream build! 99 XJ
well ive been debating whether or not to make a build thread because im too damn lazy to keep updating it. but this is my 6th cherokee and i figure the ol girl is worth a build thread. I traded an old beat up s10 that i paid $300 for and a sled that i paid a $1000 for. first day i got the thing it had a few issues that i realized real quick. the kid i got it from put some rims, tires, a $300 exhaust, and a sound system in it within the past 2 months prior to me getting it. needless to say he beat it pretty good but i still saw potential. the ONLY spot of rust is on the driverside rocker which i will be replacing with rockers/rock sliders in the near future. im going to fufill my every hope and dream i have had with a cherokee in the one I have now. well here goes nothing hope you enjoy!

Well ive had strictly mud trucks in the past and cherokees just for trails but i want this to be different. I have my powerstroke to daily drive if need be so i want to build a bulletproof cherokee that looks good and performs even better. i want to drive to and from any trail and not have too much to worry about. for right now on a pretty limited budget im starting out with a 4.5" lift 33's and some other goodies. I have addressed 98% of the issues i got the jeep with and now the building begins. who knows what the future will bring. mine as well start small and keep the build going.

spent the night cutting up the fenders on my jeep. also went about removing the plastic trim. found that my passenger side doors were originally silver so i got some painting to do. hopefully will have some more updates within the next week!
In this picture mods done so far: Hood vents, Cut fenders, plastic trim removed, debadged, tinted lights, and angry eye headlights!

Finally making some more progress on the jeep. continuing to go through and repair all the hack work the PO did. I finally took my rear sway bar out and began to undercoat the bottom side of the jeep to prevent the Northern devil aka rust. I took a break today from workin on the ol girl and had a chance to do some light wheelin near my house. stock saggy suspension, tiny *** all terrains, no rear sway bar and cut fenders the jeep did pretty good. i climbed some pretty decent hills watching out for all the **** i could hit being so low to the ground. all in all it was great. The more motivation the better. im definitly looking forward to making this one nasty rig. If anyone has any questions about any mods ive done dont be afraid to ask. Ive done plenty of research before anything ive tried.
Heading out into the powerlines.
Im actually rather impressed with the way it flexed!
Definitly a good start to where i want to go with this build. im looking forward to taking everything slow and steady. One step at a time!

So i have made a bit of progress on the jeep. I have slowly been replacing all the little stuff the PO neglected to do. had to detail the interior and douched the entire undercarriage. shes coming along and i am starting to enjoy driving it. I got around to installing a few add ons and finally picking up my lift! i had plans on installing it this weekend but my brother and sister-in-law are coming up for the weekend so im going to have to wait.....

Well I had plans of putting the lift in last weekend. being that i work in secure building at the airport I can only bring my jeep in on the weekends. I initially thought that i could put the lift in friday, saturday, and sunday after i got finished working at 4. Yeah....no. the front end was not cooperating at all. i pb blasted every nut, bolt, and everything in between for a good month before i started the lift. Thank god i did. things could have gone a lot worse then they did. took me a better part of the weekend to do the front end and then i had to pull the jeep out of the shop before monday. went about trying to put the rear in last night. read all the horror stories of the rear leaf spring bolts and such. With a little patience and a big *** breaker bar. got all the bolts out without breaking! After that the rearend was a cake walk. went to go put my transfer case drop in and snapped both bolts holding the crossmember up and the studs are still in there. ill hopefully get that squared away today. all in all its been pretty decent. definitly wish i had an extra set of hands here and there but i made do haha.
Cant wait to find some new sneakers and hit the trails!
A Little pre lift wheelin
I love the way it sits. cant wait for the rear to settle in. if it doesnt ill throw some spacers in the front. This is definitly an exciting step for me. im ready to get goin with tires, lockers, gears, recovery and such. if anyone wants to make some extra cash on the side doin some fabrication. let me know im ready to get going with the build!
Well i finally got the jeep home after the headaches with the transfer case drop. she rode suprisingly well. neeless to say im thrilled! i am going to order a sye tonight to get rid of the transfer case drop and the issues that come with it. Lookin forward to wheelin season!!!
