You and I both bud..I'm having wheeling withdrawls lol. I appreciate it.
Small change in plans for regearing, my dad is pretty confident that him and I both can figure it out so we're gonna give it a shot this weekend. Got to buy a dial indicator.

I'll probably start a thread asking how my pattern is lol. My dad has been a mechanic for 30 or so years. Setting up a differential is probably the only thing he hasn't done. I'm in school for engineering and am a part time mechanic so i think we should be good. But I'm researching and watching vids as we speak.

Lil update...got my small bearing spindles, warn lock out hubs, and alloy usa axle tube seals in the mail. Only thing left to buy is adapters for the rear. Oh and I ordered this fine piece also....a spool.

Also spent this past weekend installing my gears. It was actually very easy, just time consuming. Carrier and pinion "set up" bearings and a digital caliper for measuring shims were well worth the investment. Once you figure out what does what when you shim it, it's just a matter of trial and error. Ended up with .006" of backlash and good pinion preload. Probably could of gotten the pinion a little closer with another .003" shim or so but I'm satisfied.

Coast. Sorry, I could not get a half decent pic of this side.

^^thanks guys I didn't even see your comments until now. Brent, I was nervous at first but it actually isn't as hard as it's worked up to be. Just very time consuming. I think it took me about 10 hours between two days to get it where I wanted it. After you figure out what moves where when you add/subtract shims it's all down hill from there.
Update: Got my d30 yanked out and started mocking up the d44. The iro long arm kit is very frustrating to bolt in since it's basically made for an xj d30 housing only. SO, the plan is to either cut the upper link/caster adjuster off the iro driverside arm and make a separate upper link/mount while keeping the iro lower arms and crossmember OR sell the iro longarm kit and just buy Clayton's 3 link kit. Either way I'm gonna run a true 3 link under this thing. Of course money will probably decide what I do.
Pic from today. UCA mounts have been cut off since the pic.
