My 89 2 Door Repair/Build Thread (Pic Heavy)
Hello everybody. Figured Id start a build before I get too far so I dont forget anything. This is problably going to be very slow.
Well I bought this Jeep on Febuary 24, 2013 for $400 with no title.
280,000 Miles
4.0
AW4
NP231
D30
D35
It was overheating, broke steering tilt, 1 flat tire, gangster lean seat, can start with no key and cant open drivers door from inside. Also had a couple dents in it.
Didnt see much rust so I thought it was a good deal.
Where it had been sitting:
Well I got it home and cleaned out the rear. It had 2 new tires, glasspack, rack, antifreeze bottles of water, and some other random stuff. Here are some pics right after I got it home.
Exhaust (VIDEO) :
It had a nice HD radio in it and 2 nice 6x9's.
Here were some things that were wrong with it
Dented fender
Messed up Steering Coloum (VIDEO)
Mold
Seat
Well I started taking apart the steering coloum to fix it but i didnt have a lock plate tool so I put it back together.
Found out the front axle doesnt engage in 4x4. Problably permanetly lock it or posi lock. not sure yet.
A couple days later (5 days ago) I pulled the coloum back apart and pulled all that stuff out. I decided just to replace it. It was broken anyways.
Then 4 days ago I spray painted some random rust spots on it.
Then 3 days ago I took off the flare and pulled the big dent out of the drivers fender. While it was off I started trimming it. Havent finished it yet. Not too bad for a first.

Well as much as I hate to say it... this Jeep is being donated to my MJ. I can't get a title for this and I want to be able to drive my MJ. The tear down of the MJ should start tomarrow. I'm going to try to rebuild my MJ with only $300 or so outta my pocket. By the time I'm done this is only going to be a shell. Sadly.
Anybody think I should make a build here for the MJ?
