What track bar are you running? Same thing happened to my girlfriend as she drove my rig down the highway except the entire trackbar disconnected from the mount at the frame. The cotter pin sheared and it ripped the nut off the TRE causing it to fall out. This was an RC tb by the way
Rough Country adjustable trac-bar...
However, the mount being loose may have a lot to do with my engine swap since the frame mount for the motor mounts may have been disturbed and it's all tied together using some of the same bolts... I should have checked that and retorqued them while the old engine was out. Probably going to go back and put some lock-tite red on it to ensure she stays put.

Nice, been pretty busy lately and havent had a chance to get on here much. Id like to see your jeep sometime also maybe we can plan a summer URE trip sometime. Also I would definitely out some locktite on those frame mount bolts. I had mines come undone on me on the way back from URE last time and I had REALLY bad death wobble and my GF was driving it at the time...

Yea, I was thinking about a trip out there sometime in the very near future. Just got to convince the wife since she's about sick of my Jeep and my choice of hobbies with said Jeep lol. But, I'm going to swap in those 4.10 axles when I do this steering upgrade, so I *hope* this is all the major stuff I have to fix on the old girl. Getting tired of spending so much on her. Haven't gotten to do much of anything on the Comanche other than paint it...

Little update...
Got both front and rear axles swapped in. Finishing up the rear soon, just have to tie up some loose ends such as bleeding the ZJ disc brakes, hooking up the e-brake (got to figure out how) and filling up the pumpkin with fresh gear oil. I have to address the front again...
Brand new IRO OTK steering and I still have f**king death wobble!! I don't get it... My old, stock steering setup was noticeably worn, hence why I went ahead and upgraded. The trac-bar is a little over a year old (RC adj. double shear TB with heim joint on axle side), new polyurethane UCA bushings (axle side), Rusty's LCA's with rubber bushings (about 5 years old, rubber seems to be in fairly decent condition), etc. I know my toe-in is off and that will be where I start, but if I have DW after that, I'm seriously going to consider giving up... IDK what else to do... Suggestions??

Got the rear axle about 99% done... need to adjust the e-brake so that it actually works well. Right now, it's only working decently when idling in reverse. If it's idling in drive, it will roll forwards. I haven't test drove it more than 30 feet in my driveway, so we'll see how well the ZJ rear discs work and see if there's a noticeable difference with the 4.10's. It's almost back to being driveable again. Only other thing I have to do is swap the speedometer gear. Pictures will come later. Night folks.

Passenger front brake caliper is sticking... going to replace both front calipers and RC has agreed to send me a new heim joint for their trac-bar. I still plan to replace it with a johnny joint, but if the heim will get me to URE and back without a shred of death wobble, I'll be okay with it for the time being.
I balanced all my tires today by myself. Oh the advantages of working at an automotive shop. Rotated them while I was at it and lowered the pressure from 36 PSI to 32 PSI. Still gotz teh death wobblez... I hope and pray that the trac-bar is at fault here. I also have new swaybar bushings to put in soon.
