Been working on my CJ the last couple of days, worked on the XJ a little while I am waiting on CJ parts, started doing a little cleaning, my plan is to pull out all of the trim and possibly the dash to clran and possibly paint to make it a little more presentable plus it will make it easier to match the couple of broken trim pieces I have. Got a couple of pictures, took a few after I got mt start which makes it hard to see before and after but I will show the ones I haven't cleaned yet.
A maybe 20 minutes some simple green, a screwdriver, and scrub brush, very very nice.

I have my idea of how I am going to paint my XJ, came to me Thursday while I was at work, I am going to paint it orange, maybe hugger or tangerine, paint the hood black and paint a skull and cross bones across the hood, and while I have the interior out I am going to recover the headliner (it doesnt need it yet but it has the original one in it) and make it look like a jolly roger also.

Ok I know its been a while, the economy sucks, works been a little slow but I have been back at it the last couple weeks, scored plenty of good junkyard parts and some trading.
Updates, new fuel tank and sending unit, front calipers all new fluids, new filters, fresh from the j/y got some seat tracks, front and rear seats, seat belts, set of 31 cooper discoverys for $15 each on pepper shaker wheels (sold at a profit to buy other parts), 703 injectors, fuel pressure regulator to fix my leaking one, 3 33x12.5 x15 2 in decent shape 1 a spare with 5 TJ 15x8 rims, 2 Super Swamper 33x12.5x15 (all tires balance with bb's works great).
Stripped and primed the floor ready for lining, started sanding and priming the exterior also, going to use bedliner on the lower doors and rockers.
Got it all cleaned up and running right and to my surprise it will smoke the 33's with the stock gears.
Before
As of now
Ill have more pictures coming soon, hoping to be riding legal in a couple of weeks.

Managed to get my front and rear bumpers, rockers, and floor Herculined today, tried the texture gun from Harbor Freight (made a big mess), read some people having luck with this, ended up rolling it on, O'riely has it 49.95 for the gallon kit all week, also managed to line one of my Crocs, Hopefully by the end of the week I can have my ineterior back in it my bumpers mounted with the winch mounted and hopefully have it in the woods soon. Be sure to get a good pair of gloves instead of the cheap latex.

Been working in all my spare time but LSU games seem to be interfereing a little, painted my trailer hitch, had to get another set of seats, got some nice grand seats that wont work with my seat track, worked with my 1995 2wd xj I have a few months back, I will make some mounts soon, have beige front seats at the moment. Mounted my rear bumper now I have to figure out how I am going to run my air line to it, oredered some frame reinforcement brackets from JC offroad for my Olympic front bumper, rerouted a couple of wiring harnesses. Painted my frame brackets and installed my front bumper, plan on installing the fuel tank skid and trailer hitch tomorrow.

Over the last couple of days, with the LSU game slowing me down, wasnt really much of a game, I have managed to put the rear door panels on replace the rear wheel cylinders, clean and adjust the rear brakes while there, bend my radio antenna straight, get my radio ready for install, replace a few broekn wheel studs, boil a bushel of peanuts, and trim my fenders on the passanger side, tried cutting strips and bending but didn't like the results so I took out my air hose and my cut off wheel and free handed them.
nice and clean panels
Trimmed fenders
Hopefully tomorrow I can trim the other side.

I was told its a 4 inch RE, it had adjustable uppers, looks like a one inch boost also in the front and revolver shackles in the rear.

This evening I trimmed the fenders on the drivers side, went way faster than last night, unhooked the quick discos (first time in God knows how long), had to beat them loose with a hammer and checked my clearances.
I guess its time to start prepping to paint.

Got it painted this weekend, I wanted to paint it orange, but I got some Italian Olive satin for $1.99 a can versus $3.29 so green it is, and managed to loose my only set of keys I got with it, planning on tearing up my storage room and house to try and find them, pretty much all I have left to do is mount my tow bar hook ups, install my skid plates, winch, CB, radio, new front door speakers, and door panels then wheel the hell out of it.
I will try and get some better pics while its daylight when I get home.

Over the past week I have chenged my ignition cylinder, replaced the missing and torn splash sheilds on the inside of the doors with duty visqueen, checked Pull-A-Part online and they had 3 new XJ's that listed within the week, 2 were nothing to be excited about but one, the interior was perfect except a couple peices that had been claimed, I got all 4 door panels and inside door handles with window switches, and a extra set of lug bolts. The seats were dark grey leather and in great shape but unfortunately it was a 1996 and the seats wont work without making brackets. I installed a set of fog lights, Smitybilt XRC-8, new battery, my fancy new door panels with wood grain accents (Hell Yeah), my new black switches, and my tow bar brackets. All I have left to do at the moment is instll my skid plates, radio, amp, subs, and recover my headliner. I also plan on building a storage box int the back so stuff will be somewhat organized and if not no one will know better.
Here is a link to all my pics I have taken so far http://s69.photobucket.com/albums/i4...lev/1990%20XJ/

Looking good! When you trimmed your rear fenders past the factory pinch welds, how did you button up the inner fender wells? I'm having a heck of a time re-welding everything back up. Biggest pain in the butt thing I've done ever on my XJ. I originally had my rear fenders trimmed just below the pinch welds. Decided I wanted to open them up the same size as the front and now wishing I didn't bother lol...
