Made the final decision on paint, header will be flat red, intake is going to be titanium blue metallic I think its called, the valve cover will be fire red metallic possibly with some flat red accents from the leftovers of the header.

Emissions results
Inspection suggestions
Estimated parts and labor cost
Good thing I do this myself or I'd be screwed lol it doesn't list it but I need upper and lower control arms on both sides and seals for the front diff pinion seal and the output on the transfer case and rear brakes need service as well, looks like I'm gonna be busy for a while

What kind of headers did ya go with? Owning a 2000xj the stock ones are prone to cracking so I am looking into replacing them before that happens. Also one day my head will crack as well but the jeep was raised in Colorado and currently lives with me in the pismo beach area so I believe the weather has kept it safe for this long.

Sorry about the long time without any updates to those that follow this build, I'm currently looking for a short block to rebuild seeing as mine is toast but the head is like brand new so I'm pushing forward instead of buying a new vehicle and here's some pics of my header and valve cover getting repainted
The header needs one more coat to touch up some mistakes and the valve cover still has a ways to go until I'm satisfied but I'll be trying to keep this up to date when I can.

I'm shortening the exit considerably and doing a universal chambered muffler and opening the exit size to 2.5", and of course high flow cat

Parts jeeps were a big bust here so I'm gonna just buy the junkyard block and rebuild, while I'm in there I'm gonna stroke it and possibly bore .020 over, might take longer to get everything together for this but it should be worth all the effort in the end

Got the block back from the machine shop, bored +.030, freeze plugs, cam bearings, and boiled
Ordered the rest of the parts to finish the rebuild
Attachment 230771
Possibly the best thing I've used my income tax return for So far lol
