Thanks for the props guys! The sliders not only look good (I think so too) they take a beating, the lift rides better than my sons stock XJ and I will absolutely keep the updates coming as the $$$ allows. Moab run next month, need to replace the weakening fan clutch to facilitate cooling and get some bumper lights installed to help out my weak headlights on the trail as well as replace a rock light I destroyed. Hopefully tax time will be kind to me, I need to get her lifted a little more and get some bigger rubber. I've been beating the crap outta the underbelly lately, thats all just wishes and dreams right now though. Gotta raise some capital.

I've always liked this one. Nothing super impressive but after having the rig for about a year and a half I was getting braver and starting to wheel a little harder. This pic kind of captures that turning point.

On the first run after the locker was installed (the one that pretzled my wimpy stock tie rod), I was finding myself pushing the XJ into alot tougher situations. At only 3 inches of lift I was gambling when it came to my fuel tank. $10 and a trip to the local junkyard and we solved that problem. Factory gas tank skid from a pre 97 XJ. A couple dozen love taps with a BFH and I made her fit, one less thing to worry about.

Forgive me if from time to time I bounce around a bit. I waited two years after the build started to start this thread and memory is not always my strong suit.
When I purchased the XJ there was only one thing about it I did not care for, that was the blacked out grill and headlight bezels. Although I love the black on white theme I've kind of fallen *** backwards into, it was just too much black up front.

I had always loved the look of the grill on my first Cherokee much better (body color and black). A trip to the local autobody supply store was in order. They matched the paint using the VIN and I left with a $15 can of Stone white paint, a can of primer, masking tape and a couple scotch brite pads. I taped of the grill sections, roughed everything else up and went to work with my rattle can. I was much happier with the look of her grill now.
