Yeah I won't ever go above 5.5 inches just because I want to retain my DD drivability. Obviously i want the off road performance to be exceptional as well so I'll compromise in the middle with a 4.5 or 5.5 inch lift. I'll most likely go with the 4.5 inch lift. Eventually I'll regear, but I'm
Not sure I'll upgrade from my 32's. My flare coverage with the 11.50 inch wide tire is perfect, and they don't make a 33x11.50 Bfg mud terrain km2 in that size. I have no plans on upgrading my axles considering I've all ready done it once. My non vac disconnect HP Dana 30, and 29 spline 8.25 will be plenty strong for the wheeling I do. I will however when I regear throw in some selectable lockers. Anyway that pretty much sums up my suspension and drivetrain upgrades over the next few years haha

Upgrade: Warrior Products Steering Box Brace
Bigger tires, and rock crawling. Two amazing things that team up and put a lot of stress on the steering box.
The easiest solution ive found to put on a brace that bolts on the opposite side "frame" rail and then clamps on the steering box. Several manufactures make these braces, but i went with warrior products. It's easy to install. It Requires drilling 4 holes, and comes with two bolts, nuts, and lock washers, then 2 self tapping bolts.
Man I've drilled a lot of holes between my sliders and now this haha.
I figure now between my sliders, which bolt to the "frame rail" and the pinch seam, and the steering box brace, I've added a little bit of unibody strength. I mean it's probably not a whole lot, but nevertheless some is better then none!
I also changed the ujoints on both my driveshafts, resealed the tailhousing on the transfercase because It started leaking, got some gaskets for the fill and drain plugs so they would stop leaking as well, then filled it back up with ATF. Then I went out and drove it for a hour to make sure everything was functioning properly and I pulled in to the garage. I started inspecting the undercarriage to make sure I had no more leaks, and everything was fine until i noticed coolant everywhere on the drivers side of the engine, which was alarming considering pretty much all the coolant hoses are on the passenger side. It wasn't leaking from the coolant temp sensor or lower rad hose so I popped the hood and sure enough coolant was all over the drivers side of the engine. It took me 10 minutes of searching to find out there was a pin hole in the heater hose that must of burst under pressure and doused the engine with coolant haha. So I'll replace the heater hose today and hopefully everything else will work perfectly for my 800 mile road trip I'm leaving on tomorrow morning!

Well my jeep completed it's adventure and I'm really quite impressed on its smooth, quiet, and comfortable ride! It was quite enjoyable to drive on the freeway for extended periods of time!
Now that being said, It guzzles gas, which I was expecting... But still. It sucks haha. Normally the Cherokee has the aerodynamics of a tool shed, but now with the roof rack and spare tire it has the aerodynamics of the broad side of a barn. I could maintain 75mph but I was having to give it pretty much full throttle all the time because Utah is anything but flat. I pretty much had to leave it in 4th gear and big hills i'd drop it down in to 3rd. I need to regear..... Sigh. Oh! One other thing... Before I did the SYE I would have bad vibes 30-40 mph, and on the freeway it was smooth. Now with the SYE its smooth in town but it vibrates above 55 mph! Wth? I changed the u joint, and the driveline is tight. My pinion angle is good. Could the cv joints be bad or the whole driveline be out of balance? It's kind of annoying. I've completely ruled out the front driveline from the equation, so I know it's the rear, which is the front driveline from a V8 ZJ.
Anyway I was able to spend a couple hours in moab! I'll upload some pictues of that later, but I do have some video of part of the poison spider mesa trail. The scenery is incredible, and the trail was perfect because it gave some degree of challenge, but without the worry of breaking something so I couldn't get home. I wish I had a few days to go explore Moab, but I had more important buisness in Monticello which is 45 minutes south of Moab.
Here is the video. Hopefully it works because I'm posting it from my phone. Oh and by the way, ignore all the commentary. The guy filming thinks he's cool... Buuut, he's not haha.
Let me know what ya think!

Hahaha my bad! I want to go to moab again this year and actually do a couple days of wheeling so maybe I'll be heading down sometime around then?
