"Milo" The 1989 2 Door build
With you not taking shortcuts and beingt the perfectionist you are its hard for me to see you doing the hack n' tap. They are cheap yes, but they are weak. Plus, the full sye is not hard to install. i have done a couple, both leaving the case in the jeep and taking it out, and both ways took me less than 3 hours. here is a comparison of the full sye and the stock shaft. i bent my stock one from putting torque to it, not my hitting it, they are pretty weak.

I decided to go with the SYE for the same reasons Kyle mentioned. I have spent so much time not taking shortcuts, why shouldn't i follow the same trend? I know many people really like the hack n tap, and it works well, but the full SYE is only $221 shipped, so I think it's worth the extra 50 bucks. Kyle, I'm curious. Did you find it easier to install the SYE with the t-case in or out of the jeep?
i found it easier to do it in the jeep, unbolting the tcase takes forever and juggling the case around on the table was cumbersome. but then again i had a lift thesecond time which makes everyhthing that much easier.

Who needs a floor jack when you have your stock tires laying around?
When I installed my lift I put the passenger side rear shackle in with the grease fitting facing the rear hatch. So you can't get a grease gun to attach to it. Yeah i fail... Anyway in order to grease it the rear spring has to be extended to allow the shackle to rotate towards the front. I don't have a long enough floor jack so I improvised
Oh, and P.S. The rock sliders showed up!
I haven't even seen them yet and I all ready know they are beasts. They weigh 96 lbs! It was kind of funny watching the UPS driver awkwardly struggle getting them off the truck haha. I'll have them installed tomorrow, then I will have to take them off, paint them, let them dry overnight and then Thursday they will be installed for good and looking sexy! So stoked!
