Default Mild mannered to the HULK - green XJ build

Well, I've decided to buy a house. So I am getting rid of my race car and getting back into jeeps!

I've owned 2 before, a 95 country XJ and a 94 limited 5.2 ZJ. Both awesome vehicles, regret selling and getting rid of both.

So I searched for a while and found a rough 96 XJ Country in green. Pretty much exactly what I'd wanted, minus a D35 and not a C8.25. But, that'll change eventually.

274k miles, really rough shape. But picked it up for 1100. Runs, drives, and has AC and heat. So it's a good start.

Here's the first picture of her

Interior is trashed, needs new carpet, headliner, front seats, and a deep clean everywhere else. Got a rugged ridge driver seat to start so it's at least more comfortable to drive.

Not a perfect match, but it is super comfortable.

This weekend the new lift and tires go on.
Rubicon Express 3.5" Super Ride
Rubicon Express Track Bar
Rugged Ridge HD Steering
Rubicon Express Steering Stabilizer
Bilstein 5100 Shocks
Cragar V-5 15x8 Black Wheels
32x11.50x15 Goodyear MT/R w/ Kevlar
New brakes all around
Stainless Steel Crown Brake Lines

After that is all installed I'll be addressing other parts of the rig. May hit up a junkyard and try and snag a D44 and rebuild it.

What a pain in the ***!

Literally everything was seized or rusted. Even the bleeders on the calipers. Required heat and a lot of PB.

Sawzalled a bunch of bolts off. Basically all bolts in the suspension are brand new now.

Still have a bit more touch up to do tonight. Here is a pic of the tire on it. May need to trim a bit.

Thanks, it needs a little bit more work. It's drivable, but it's not perfect. Angles aren't great IMO and the alignment needs touch up.

Looks good. Good combo with the lift & tire size. Is that rugged ridge seat leather? How much did it run you? I've been looking for leather seats at the junkyard & had no luck. Those may be an option....

Keep it up, do you like the MTR's? I just bought 35's and am patiently waiting for them to come in...

The seat is vinyl, I prefer it to leather. It's very nice, the seat was like 255 shipped. Well worth the money.

I like em so far, I only have like 30 miles on them. So too early to say. They also haven't seen any wheeling at all.
