My opinion is B. I went 33s and regret it 35s work great on a 4.5- 5" with trimming do not hesitate. Didnt notice, but may want to swap in a high pinion 30 in it too.

i agree but i would say do the 33's. they'll give you better articulation without trimming a lot, unless you hate your fenders, then go 35's.

thats just my $0.02 but still nice xj

C Youll be in it alot less money if you go with 33's. Once you step to 35's you gotta start hacking away at the fenders, bumpstopping like crazy and regearing. Thats without starting to improve the structural integrity!

This is if youre on a budget haha.

Choice A) Put in the 4.5" kit this month and run 33's on my d35 till summer then swap the axle and move up to 35's then re-gear towards the end of summer.

Choice B) Wait till June 14, Swap the d35 for the 8.25, put the 4.5" kit in and get the 35's on right away and re-gear at pretty much the same time.

Choice C) Do the axle swap in June, but stick with 33's

in my opinion id like to avoid spending all that extra cash on the 33's if im going to go with 35's but im still stuck on what to do. A guy who lives near me has a 8.25 all ready to bolt in and hes giving it to me for $100.

If you are set on 35's then go route B.

IMO I think you will get better articulation with 33's. I don't understand the fascination with 35's other than the "Bigger is better mentality." But like I said that just my opinion.

Alright I'm gonna go 33's, swap the axles, and save some cash and my fenders.

Picking up a 29 spline 8.25 after school tomorrow! It's out of a 99 so I don't think I have to worry about the e-brake cable but I'll post pics once I pick it up tomorrow

Yeah it's not going in for a week or two so I'm planning on cleaning it up and hopefully doing the disc brake swap

Picked up the 8.25 today and all it needs is a coat of paint. The guy has a really nice lifted xj and some sweet fab skills. Also got home and changed the gear oil in the front diff.

My neighbor just got a really nice lifted tj so I told him to get some rocker protection cause he wanted to go rock crawling...... He had nerf bars installed they stick out insanely far too, it looks ridiculous

A little update on everything, just ordered a set of nut-strips from jcr-offroad so i can finally mount the hitch I've had sitting in my garage forever. Started on the 8.25 with a wire wheel getting it all shiny before i paint it, hopefully going to pick up some stage 2 sliders from another member on here this weekend, and the lift is being ordered this weekend as well.

I still had to trim majorly to tuck 33-12.50 so a 33-10.5 may be a better fit. In my opinion my 12.50s look to fat . Thats why a 35-12.50 looks better also, not just bigger is better. The differance in the price per tire was about 20.00. Still kickin myself. You still runnin a low pinion 30?
