Hello all,
I am a newbie and I don't even own my jeep yet. My girlfriends mother owns one and is giving it to me. I want to learn everything about it I can. What questions should I ask first? Is there a thread already dedicated to something like this? Is there a website that explains everything about my jeep? So far all i know is it is an 1989 Jeep cherokee laredo, 4.0 liter, 4 door, automatic transmission, and its red. I guess it kind of rocks left and right when going over a bump while traveling abound 55 mph. What could it be?! Please let me know anything and everything you can, I like knowing what I am getting into, and right now i am in about as far of the dark as you can get. Thanks! Rick

Well first off,the rocking back and forth is obviously an alignment problem.Go to les Shwab(Spelling I dont care) or any other shop that says they can help with that,they will do it.
Otherwise tell us all the basis of what you want to do to it or what you want to get out of it,then people can be more specific of what they can help you with.

Ok, so the transmission has been replaced twice. I am going down to pick it up tomorrow evening so i can't take a good look. How do i tell what kind of transmission it has? when it was replaced how would i have known what kind was put in?
