Default Leaf spring question

this may be a stupid question but I'm thinking about lifting my 98 xj sport 3 inches, and I want new leaf springs but they are expensive. I though it may be cheaper to buy new stock springs and then just by a add-a-leave lift kit. Would this be the same as getting new leaf springs in a lift kit?

Also any suggestions about the lift would be appreciated.

Thanks

I bought 2.5" procomp full leaf packs for $100 each. That's less than new oem packs. Look into those in think I got them at 4wd.com

Stock leaf springs are actually just as expensive if not more expensive than aftermarket ones usually.

Cheapest I've found any leaf springs. If you have a local 4wheelparts they will honor the price match on this so you won't have to pay shipping.

Many options. Junk yard bastard pack. Add a leaf on your current leafs. Cheap 3" leaf springs. That being said. There is a search feature on this site as well as a section to ask questions like this if it can't already be found by searching.

Welcome to the site!

My opinion is... if you're going to do it, do it right. It will be less work for you in the end.

Buy a full leaf pack kit. You won't be sorry. The longevity of the kit will be better.
