It's officially tagged.
Got the plate for it Friday. Daughter was jaz'd and drove to the DMV for them and got'm put on right in the lot. (she took her tools. ) good kid she is. For some odd reason we could only get it with the 1 in front. perhaps some else had the same idea, or their honoring a fellow soldier.

Got the injectors swapped today. Girl did the most of the work, I drew the straw to yank the fuel rail and the injectors out. (them's is some tuff lil Efers)
Ended up having to pull it twice which was pretty quick second time around. When we started it up, there was a leak from the #1 injector at the fuel rail. Some how we managed to booger up a seal from the corroded inner hat on the rail. We replaced it with the best of the ones we pulled out.
Fun job and she's happy with how it runs.
The old ones were pretty crappy, and the start up after resetting the ECM was WAY better than before.

33x12.5x15 Kenda Cleaver A/T tires
Got some Kenda Cleavers of eBay on Wed. night and Saturday after walking to the store for donuts and some Chili fixin's, they were sitting on my porch.
Nothing wrong with the 32" Goodyear Kevlars, but with her driving it on the street 90% of the time AND having 4:56 gears, I'm sure the 33's in an All Terrain tire will be a welcome addition to the ride, and the pocket book. (for fuel reasons)
I read some reviews on these Kenda tires and checked out what some other Jeep owners had to say about them on their daily driver/trail vehicles. Those running the 33's (C load range) were pretty please with how well they rode on the tarmac, and surprised at how well they did off road. (even when mildly aired down)
For their tread pattern, I'm thinking we made a pretty good choice, the GY's with their 11.5 wide tread seam to be just as wide as these 33x12.5's. We'll do some pics and reviewing them on and OFF road as soon as we get a chance. Mileage previously was around 160 per tank before the full exhaust with new converter and O/2, 4 hole injectors and cleaned K&N filter. now her avg. is 200 per tank.
Tires and a Rotella T6 oil change w/ K&N oil filter will be done Monday. Should start seeing better results in fuel economy soon. Here's some meaty shots of the Kenda tires.

I've still got room to go up on the lift if needed.

99 Mileage milestone
Got this today when she got to work. COOL capture for her 99 HERO to get to. Jeep runs better than when it was new. She loves it.

Got our flag mount done for the upcoming 4th of July Parade.
After reattaching the rear view mirror, the girl and I took it to the lake near by to get some poser shots with it mounted. Gotta say, I love driving with the flag mounted. I was pretty impressed to find the A/C working really good, which is nice considering the heat we've had lately. Also found a decent enough ditch to swing into and see how the "stuff" of the rear tire is. Sway bar is still connected, but the drivers tire is hanging in the air about a foot. No rub, so perfect fit.
Temps were running just over 210-218 ish, I think that's pretty good being HOT and running the A/C, but I think before the parade, I'm going to add some hood risers and pull the trim seal there. See if that don't vent some of hot air.
Here's some shots of it.

Still looking for a dual function (open and closeable) hood vent, but for now, I've got the hood spacer route.
Surprisingly, they offer a lot of open space right where you'd want it, at the back of the hood. Looks a lot like a cowl hood, but it does have function.
The spacers are made of a urethane, and they do tend to squish a little more that the preferred Delrin.
I managed to Pull a little on the hood to get to seat up near the front and leave the back nice and open. made for a clean hood like up front when closed. enough babble, on to some pics. (taken with my new HTC 10 VS the Canon EOS rebel) Nice camera on this new phone.

I've heard E-talk of this as a possibility, but know one has ever been able to prove that theory as far as I know. Either way, you'd have to have some serious collision force for that to happen but I doubt the structure of the hood would allow it. Getting past the structural support of the bumper and frame stiffener tie ins would be pretty hard as well. I see no physics to say the hood spacers aren't safe.
It's working very well tho for lowering under hood temps while doing this.

Love the license plate mount and stubby antenna, it's the little things. Great looking Jeep. Saw your post on another thread about wanting the hood cowl and I think it would look really good on this Jeep, some can't pull it off. I have an extra hood if you're looking!
How's the exhaust btw? I've been looking into some options.

The exhaust is really nice. It's an I6 Jeep thing, you're not gonna get it to sound fast N furious without sounding like a redneck IMO. (NO offense to all you rednecks. lol) The Walker OEM parts are factory spec. The converter is actually better than what they mass produced since they are using the latest catalyst material construction. (I know,,,,, I work for Tenneco, and we own Walker) I think it runs better now that new and the exhaust components sure helped. No drone sound and it's a tad more throaty than stock.

No, I don't lick fish.
Hey man. Nice lookin' Jeep. How well does that stubby receive compared to the OEM antenna? Same range and all that?
