The girl says it works just fine. No issues with radio going out of town and n rural area's. For the most part she's got it blue toothed to her phone and playing what she has on that or a flash drive.
Bummer part is: we all just got new phones and now none of us get texts read through the sound system. We all previously had Window's phones and apparently they have an active patent on that tech. Apple or Android (we've got android) won't do it. The techs at the Mitsu dealer were freaked out when I sent a text to my wifes phone and the car asked if I wanted to read it or ignore it. lol
I thought all phones were like that. Hopefully I'll find a successful app, or the gov. will intervene and let the other have that function too. Hands free calling is nice, but I really miss getting text read to me and being able to reply hands free. I can't imagine how many lives might be spared if PPL weren't trying to read a screen instead of paying attention to the road.

Hmm.... that's interesting. What phones do you have? On our Samsung phones, it will read text messages out loud - I can't remember for sure if it will do it over the sound system, but I thought sure I remember a friend's phone doing it over his Charger's system when using "S-Voice" (not google voice).

I've got the new HTC 10, (preferred over Samsungs) and the wife and girl just got the Samsung S7's.
I've tried a few apps, but so far it's sketchy at best. And they aren't working through the BT stereo system, they make you have the phone out and on a holder or something like that.

Link on the patent Microsoft has.
http://api.viglink.com/api/click

It could be the model/brand. Both my wife and I have Mitsubishi Outlanders. 14 & a 16.
I think you can get this function from like onstar or something, but windows did it automatically. I miss my windows phone, but without updates and support, it was time to cut the cord. If they're out of the phone biz soon, perhaps this function will be available standard.

On a Jeep note, the girls pretty happy with her new sway bar bushings and the CURE, tie rod thingy from RuffStuff. She reports that we may not need a new gear box, so I think for now we'll let it slide and just add a steering box support. (rugged ridge maybe)
I missed getting pictures of her working on it, but she's all about getting in and getting it done. She even changed all the tie rods on an older boys YJ she knows and I gotta admit,,,, he seemed a bit ashamed he wasn't much help. lol
That's my girl..

Well... that link gave me a blank page with this message on it "Parameter 'out' is required."

But anyway, glad to hear the report on "The Cure", I was curious about that myself. Ruff Stuff's reputation precedes them, but I did wonder just how well this little piece actually worked. Good to know.

And yeah, I'd be ashamed if some girl was workin' on my Jeep and I wasn't helpin' in some way shape or form!

Well, back at it again today. Weather wasn't too bad, but I had some interuptions with family, girl going to work etc. Almost done, gonna finish it up tomorrow, but as far as the cooling system goes, it's all fresh N new again.
New rad, cap, stat, water pump, T-stat housing, upper / lower Rad hoses, proper hose clamps, new fan clutch, new bolts, GY Gator belt.

Job became a pain in the ars after all the bolts came out but the top water pump bolt. The head turned right off. Good thing too, I was able to use 2 nuts on the bolt, and it turned out. (some thread penatrant helped)
the girl got home to help start getting the hoses, pulleys fan and belt back on.
Gonna tackle seating the Radiator in when we have some more light.

I did use the sprayer on the hose to flush out the hoses to the heater core, and flush the block and head till the water came out clean. Degreased the area and chased the threads before putting it all back together.
NOTE: I had 2 blades on the fan that must have been hit, they were NON functional till I beat them back into submission / place.
Pics of the days work.

lol, NOW you tell me.

Thanks, It was a VERY bad *** ride and I do miss it, but the girl is really liking the XJ and that she can drive it daily and we can still go wheeling in it.

NOTE: The following contains CURSING!!!!!
Update on the cooling system. (and some freakin' azz crap that went with it that I am venting on here while I drink a MUCH NEEDED BEER)
So this morning 8/1/16, my girl and I get started on finishing up the install. Just had to seat the Rad into the grommets, hook up the top hoses, temp sensor, E-fan, shroud and of course the header and fill it up.
We get it all done, fire it up and get this god awful squeal. I mean BAD! so I hit some WD40 in a few pulley areas and it goes away but comes back when on the gas. WTF!!! I change out the belt to the old one, same thing, I see the pulley's kinda slow down and I'm thinking FKKKKK, brand new ACDelco water pump is ****. I send the girl out to get a new one, only had to remove the E-fan to do it luckily. Put that all in, MORE new coolant, button it up, fire it up, and........ (This space reserved where a LOT of cursing you can't say on the forum is) Now I'm thinking crap, it's either the Alt, or the A/C clutch. It's not making the sound until I goose the throttle linkage. Turn on the A/C, I YI YI, screams like my girl when she was born. turn it off, it goes away. You gotta be ing kidding me, how the hell could it go THAT BAD just changing out the cooling system??? talked with my shop , drove it there, had 2 guys looking at it, one said belt was a "lil loose" tighten it up a bit. I go home and do that, BAM! No squeal when I kick on the A/C, but hit the throttle, and it does it. I figure what the heck, tighten it a lil more. WHAAA FREAKIN LA, No more squealing, took it for a drive, works just great. A/C kicking out snow and it's 90* outside and Jeep is running 210 on the money. Never heard the E-fan kick on, so I'm not sure if it's working, but NO leaks, NO squealing and the girls happy. What a day!!!!
Only DIY fix we did was drill a hole in the waterpump pulley to get a driver through to hold it still when tightening the bolts. (2nd new pump didn't have spanner holes to keep it still to tighten them)
Here's a few pics.

Electric cooling fan 4.0L: With or without A/C
request the electric fan will come on only when the
coolant temperature is at least 106° C (223° F), and
will remain on until the coolant temperature drops to
103° C (217° F) or below. Regardless of coolant temperature, When air conditioning system pressures
reach 2068.5 6 138 kPa (300 6 20 psi) the electric
fan will engage and continue to run until the A/C
system pressure drops to 1620.3 kPa (235 psi) minimum, then the electric fan will shut off.

Thanks for the info. I hadn't searched it yet and was thinking of just checking to see if the fan actually worked (bench test it).
I'm guessing changing out all the components and hammering the fan blades back into their proper shape is doing well enough that I haven't needed it to kick on. On the bright side, I've got a spare water pump. lol

Ha well Nebraska is a bit of a distance from NJ! And my XJ can be DD if one chose to. I just prefer better MPG lol.

As far as tightening that pulley, If you put a small break bar across the bolt heads you can tighten them individually . Kind of what I do when torquing wheel spacers by myself.
