Haven't updated this in awhile. So it's time for an update. Jeesie's motor is starting to get really tired and during the last oil change it looked like glitter day in arts and craft class! So after looking around craigslist for a couple weeks I came across a wrecked 99 that the guy was parting out. He said he wanted 400 in the ad but the motor had 170k on it. So I low balled the guy and offered him 280 and he said sure. The Jeep already ahd the tranny pulled and was on a trailer. So I had my buddy tow it down to the dealership friday after work. Saturday I went in and after 2 hours the motor was out and on a stand. I also scored the non dummy light gauge cluster, the passenger side air bag and a set of 6.5" Jensen speakers. For free!!
The plan for the motor is a complete tear down and rebuild with a good amount of upgrades. Here is my build list

4.0 Rebuild
99 Intake Manifold
703 Injectors
Thor Air Intake
Brown Dog Motor Mounts
FlowKooler Water Pump
Bored Throttle Body
4.0 Aluminum Valve Cover
High Flow Oil Pump
Oversized Oil Filter

That is where I am at so far. Here are a few pics of the Jeep I got the motor out of and the motor removed

And finally a picture of Jessie stranded while her throttle body is sent off to get bored.

It went back to the guy who owned it. That was his trailer it was sitting on.

We'll see if I'll have to grind on it to make it fit with my 99 intake.

Nice!
Just did mine on my 99, no grinding, perfect fit.
Don't bother going with Felpro Manifold Gasket.....it didn't fit on my 99.

Here is the Felpro gasket that i returned.

Oh, definitely need a gear wrench for the bolts under the manifold.
