Had to leave my Jeep at the the school shop today (2/24/10) . Got my new brake lines installed (thanks srmittchel for the part numbers). I had to use new connectors and cut and reflare the line. The right side decided to stripout. Along with that I oredered new upper and lower ball joints for the right side and Rough Country's 2.2 performance steering stabilizer.

New brake lines. No more "limiting straps"

I really like how much beefier the connection to the caliper is compared to the stock one.

Also I felt like a moron today. For some reason I've thought since I got my Jeep that it had a 242 in it. Well I was wrong. I have a 231. I should have known that a long time ago but I guess I'm retarded. I been under my Jeep a million times and never read the stamp saying 231. My auto teacher who's a Jeep guy pointed it out today.

On another note thats awesome! Now I can get an sye and a long arm kit a lot easier than if I had a 242.

Got the right side all disassembled to get the ball joints out. Changed out the tie rod boots since the old ones were torn. Pulled the diff cover to switch it out for the painted one and chocolate milk came pouring out. lol. And finally got the upper control arms disconnected so I can switch out the bushings.

Diff fluid

Right side all disassembled

Polyurethane Tie Rod boots before I put them on

And my table of junk (the shocks are from a previous car I worked on)

Finally got my Jeep out of the shop. Took me three days, 3 hours in the shop each day to get everything done. I got it all aligned and my Camber is off on the side I put the new ball joints on. The only fix for that is to buy new off set ball joints and replace those. Other than that the only other thing that gave me any real trouble was getting the driver side upper control arm bushing. Got my newpainted diff cover on too.

The old ball joints. The bottom one on the left is toast.

Old upper bushings

The driver side wouldn't come out so my teacher got his air hammer.

Sat like this for 3 days

New Ball Joints installed. So glad I had the right tool for it.

Good shot of the new tie rod boots

And everything finished

verry nice build. i love it. i love the older body style. i also dont like fender trimming just cause it looks like ***...or as my friend says "it makes me wanna run up to people and stab them in the eye with a spoon"...i dont really agree cause its very practical to trim fenders...i just dont like the way it looks...

anyway, this makes me wanna switch my classes to automotive cause i love working on cars and stuff.

awesome work, i want mine to look like yours did with the 3 inch lift...clean and good lookin!

also about the np242 t.c....i have one, not sure if im happy or upset. i do get snow sometimes and its good for that...but some people dont like them...

keep up the nice work
