One of our member's on here who is local to me offered me some 33"s tires to use so I'm stoked about that until I buy a new set or go 35"s lol. He also has been talking to be on the regular with e-mail to keep me updated on certain parts I can source from junk yards and save money.
Good deal! It helps to have someone close who has all the sources nailed down!

Alright I'm home and finally got my XJ home. Well its been home almost a week now but I started on a couple things with it.

One the battery was toast and not the correct size so I immediately replaced that. I also got the typical tune up items oil, plugs, wires, air filter, oil filter but yet to do it.

Found an oil leak out of oil filter adapter so O ring kit is going to be here this week. I'll do that job when I do oil change that way killing two birds with one stone.

Most important item is I drove it and runs good shifts great.

Worse item is floor board is in much needed repairs. Under carriage is great shape with no rust what happen is some water got into windshield and other places old window weather stripping which then soaked carpet for who knows how long and now I got to replace floor. Not sure if I'll cut old rusty stuff out and just patch it or do full floor boards with weld job.

That photo above is just passenger side front where I removed some carpet to see the damage. Looks like I got my work cut out for me.

Thanks buddy!! Its great to be home and family is happy too. Which is why my progress on the XJ is going to take time to fix things up. I got in laws in town until after new year so kind of been sneaking outside when I can to do things.

5-speed I hope so too but I'm mentally preparing for worse. I mean I live in the PAC norwest right now and bought this rig that runs great for $600 plus its rock solid on outside. This is really the only rust on this baby just floors area. I don't even know yet how bad cargo area is either and other spots but if I tell myself its all shot then I find out later when I remove carpet that its not as bad as I anticipated then I'll be happy. Either way its getting fixed right now I'm prepping and going to start welding in a couple weeks. Need to wait on funds to get the welder and sheet metal.

Plus this is not a DD at the moment and will just be trail rig so I'm okay with it being rough around the edges.

Removed all carpet in front and front seats. Drivers side has surface rust but all solid just looks worse than it is. Passenger side is the worse but all solid around seat brackets and unibody area so I'm happy about that. Seems like it will be some patches and clean up everything else spray it with rustoluem paint and rust converter stuff I got last night then bedliner the entire floor.

Rear drivers floor looks bad but most of that is still residue from carpet padding and then ill just clean up rusty looking area and treat it.
