Well I have been reading the board for a while and after picking up a 1999 Limited from my brother I really found out what jeep is all about.

Ok I have been looking at a cheap 4x4 for a long time now and after I found out my brother was selling his I talked to the wife. She told me a "few" times I must be going through my midlife and if this is what would make me happy I should do it. So, I talked to my brother and after looking at the jeep, it looked good, I took it in to have it checked out. OH S**T he was hoping to get 1500 out of it before we looked at it. After getting it to the wife's nephew he was just happy he was alive.

After doing a few things to it, I Figure I want to get it looking like a "really" jeep... You know muddy. Anyways this is going to be a slow build since I am cheap and when I have time I have no money but when I have money I have no time.

Here it is on pick up day.

Haven't done much but keep it clean and think of things to do to it. I have a sound that sounds like the front drive shaft raddling off something but I can't see anything wrong and no wear marks as if anything is hitting stuff. It will have to go in to be looked at till I can find a group around me with some jeepers in it.

Anyways here is the Christmas spirit.

Well If you really want one I can pick one up when I go camping next summer. I'm not sure if I can get one online but I'll look.

Well, Friday I stopped by a friends place to have him look for a sound coming from the front end that I couldn't place. Kinda sounded like I was shacking a spray can every time I turned left or hammered the gas. It kinda sounded like the front drive banging on something or maybe the Tcase.
Sat. I picked up some garland and Christmas lights for the roof but on the way home the front right started making some squeaking noise. "Hmmm... going to have to look at that soon.
Sunday went out for the wife and not only was the squeak on the right worse but the left was starting too.
Monday went to check a winter contract and found that left and right squeak was even worse but the rattle was almost gone. So I called the boss and told him I had to take the jeep in to get looked at. I still couldn't find anything that looked out of place.

Well, the shop called and I am now the owner of two new U joints. Hmm maybe I should have just fixed them on Fri....

You have quite a nice jeep, and for under $1500? even better.

Well it's been a while since I added anything to this tread... Since the last time I have added the snorkel, relocated the washer bottle. I put in a 3" Rough Country lift and replaced my electric fan. I have added a front and rear hitch for pull points as well. I finally got my CB in and only need an antenna mount to finish it off.

I have new (used) rims 3.5-4" back space and new RE HD track bar waiting to go on.
