Been trying to get some items finished up here... finally yanked the ring gear out of my 271 case and pressed it in the doubler case.

Still welding on the frame (uni-body) as time permits...

All in all... probablly a bit overkill for my HP application, but I picked up a 23 spline input out of a 241 DHD utilizing a long input and wide bearing configuration...

Had to dig around for a pilot needle bearing with a 1.625 OD and 1.125 ID to fit the DHD input. New bearing is in the middle for comparison...

And a six pinion planetary... all with the late style gear tooth pitch.

I have to machine a plug for the shaft still.... then I can get with final assembly.

Machined up a plug for the input and installed along with the pilot bearing.

Searching on what to do with the brake booster and master cylinder to power a pair of chevy calipers front (ditchin the Ford calipers) and rear.... Late XJ, WJ, ZJ, dual diaphram, Durango, Ram 2500, 1.0", 1.062", 1.125", 1.250", Merc Marquis, Corvette, etc

Utilizing a 8" dual diaphram booster and what looks to be a Corvette style MC and has a bore of 1.125"... this is what I'm going with at a price under $150 shipped...

Brake booster and master installed... other than the little bit of trimming on the firewall, it was a nice fit!

Trying to keep some cost (and time) down and without out a doubt a propper set up hydro is nice, but getting it all to work along with hydro assist on the cheap appears to be a crap shoot.... Unless your paying for the knowledge and the equipment. I read many threads that indicaed full lock up with 40"+ tires on the street with a dual booster and the correct master cylinder, what more more do I need than that.

Wanted to get an open loop radiator to replace the closed loop system and decided to give this 3-core a try. I will be getting rid of the mechanical fan for another electric and adding a Flow Cooler coolant pump and hi-flow thermostat.

Fabing up a lower radiator support... need to put in the flowcooler water pump, full flow thermostat and late model thermostat housing, then I can finalize the radiator install.
